Review:
Another sterling effort here from the underground French producer as Naibu leaves his mark on the Horizons imprint with the most excellent Fireflies release. The Light remix gets things started with the distinctive hum of synths creating a sonic haze in the background whilst a vocal soars around it and beats hum and whirr incessantly like the wings of an insect. A beautiful and heartfelt piece of music here with plenty of soul and substance. "Write The Future" switches things up on a tougher tip with pounding subs juxtaposed against shimmying vocals and rattling breaks.

Review:
French D&B producer Naibu brings us an impressive album on Neil Monteiro's Horizons Music. "Come In Slow" gets the eleven-track LP off to a beautiful and compelling start with harp flourishes and pared down beats. Throughout the venture we are treated to such gems as the gently tripping "Keep It Simple" with its punchy beats juxtaposed against triangle chimes. Elsewhere there is the moodier incantation "Secret Room" with its whispering vox, and powerful "Dig The Past", as well as thought-provoking outro "Long Way Out". A mini masterpiece, all told.

Review:
If you like your D&B soft, sweet and fairly minimal then French talent Naibu should fulfill your needs. Coming at us with another couple of cuts on Horizons, first up we have "Apparitions (with Hydro)", cue a sparse soundscape punctuated by terse, tough beats, an eerie horn and a sprinkling of SFX which come in and out of focus. A cooing vocal element adds further mystery. Accompanying this is a top notch Break remix of "Into The Distance" which sees Naibu teaming up with Key and Ena. This one's a beauty - juxtaposing vocal-driven sections with Break's trademark drums and tough, rough edge.

Review:
Prolific Parisian producer Naibu has a history of experimentation. This is his latest masterpiece released on Horizons, a label he's built a strong bond with since he first emerged on the drum and bass scene. It's a brilliant play on light and shadow of D&B - between the resonant depths of sub pressure and the glimmers of beauty in his expressive use of instruments and exotic samples that show snippets of life. Rivalling the likes of Break and Calibre with his affinity for creating full bodies of work rather than a succession of singles, Naibu is one of the few producers out there still interested in playing out soundscapes and stories; playing with structure and telling a tale. A gorgeous LP that stands out against the best.

Review:
Heading up this three track EP on Inside Recordings is original cut "There", which is backed up with two superb remixes of two other Naibu tracks from Spinline and Modu. Returning to the title track, "There" is a glorious, dreamy piece of music with whirring beats and curious, warping SFX dominating the intro, it gradually builds up layers of sound with rustles of harp string, booms of bass and ticking beats to form a cohesive whole. Intense stuff from the off. Next is the Spinline remix of "Doubts" which is a deep, heads down roller with lush breaks, unnerving bleeps and a sense of unease in the echoing vocal element and sweeping atmospherics. Modu's remix of "Dusk" is another beauty with brooding synths, delicate beats and plenty of moodiness. A lovely EP here.
