Review: After the double vinyl drop sold out in record time earlier this year, Astral Soul, Nebula's crucial junglist explorations for the Subtle Audio imprint, finally graces the digital realm. As soon as the bass rises through the shimmering atmospherics and the cascading drums drop in opening track "Encounters" your appetite for vintage junglist vibes will be satisfied. From here Nebula drops four further cuts which fully demonstrate his talent for manipulating drums to sound wholly unique rhythmically but crucially still eminently danceable. "Warm Currents" in particular stands out for the slick juxtaposition of rough amen undulations, warm drifting utopian textures and subtle bass movements whilst the title track is just plain rude!
