Review: Canada's Homebreakin Records drops another disco inspired, house stormer. This time courtesy of Neighbour aka Matt Dauncey, the "Glove Box" EP contains four tracks of soulful, funky house music that draws on the instrumentation of disco and jazz but brings them up to date for today's clubbing scene. The title track is the highlight here, a raw piece of funk infused disco with some killer double bass

Review: Canadian nu funkateer Neighbour returns to regular haunt Homebreakin with perhaps his strongest offering to date in the shape of "Toute Freak". Whilst there are definite strains of nu funk present via the groove and jelly wobbling bass, Neighbour showers proceedings in a glistening electro pop sheen - check the crafty Donna Summer sampling too! In addition to Neighbour's own accomplished more subtle dub take there is some big remix action on the flip. Aussie producer DCUP focuses on the electro house possibilities on a remix that's French in tone and replete with a killer kick drum, whilst Bumper transforms the track into a modern day low slung robo boogie epic!

Review: Neighbour's "Summertime Girls" couldn't really get any more summery unless Homebreakin Records started handing out a free Hawaiian shirt and Strawberry Daiquiri with every purchase. The Canadian producer serves up a real gem, with the shimmering funk riffage that characterises his style working brilliantly between wriggling synths and a catchy vocal hook. "Summer Holiday", up next, bangs harder with ripping electro-house synth action, a quicker tempo and rapped vocal (there's a handy dub version too). Another killer fusion of electro, disco and breakbeat from Neighbour.
