Review: Dutch D&B master Nymfo has had his tunes picked up by RAM, Shogun and Renegade in the past and now he's back with this heavy double tracker on Commercial Suicide. "Matchstick" keeps the beats and the bass in perfect harmony and never crowds the mix - everything is stripped back and focused on getting asses moving. On the flipside, "Bionic Fingers" gets deeper and more glitched out but still has some serious funk to it. Some tasty treats from a producer who's definitely got his eye on the floor.

Review: Holland's biggest name in D&B, Nymfo confidently drops this new EP for Commercial Suicide - a label that has seen Nymfo release jewels that Goldie, Hype, Fabio, Doc Scott and more have gone nuts for in the past. With nine tracks gathered here, we suggest you check out the mangled bass thrills of "Gamma Ray" (written, according to Nymfo, with old Ed Rush and Optical tunes in mind), as well as the silky strings of "Blue Velvet". 2010's "Matchstick" also gets the VIP treatment, as Nymfo adds more swing and a pared-down sound to this tried and tested banger.

Review: New Zealand based label Samurai Music gets Dutch D&B producer Nymfo involved for the sci-fi sampling "Greetings Starfighter". Making a cursory nod to the sound and style of Ed Rush & Optical enthusiasts, Ulterior Motive, Nymfo's track has a tough edge, but he holds back to create a poised and purposeful tone. Tight drums spell out the score, metallic synths grate and a low slung, grouchy b-line underpins the whole lot. Straddling the murky barrier so oft put up between intelligent, interesting music and dancefloor destruction, "8 Band", on the flipside, is another rigorously executed piece. A percussive, atmospheric intro paves the way into a more explorative phase, replete with a warped, whomping b-line, hushed hi-hats and infectious energy.

Review: The highly talented Dutch D&Bster Nymfo comes up trumps with this release on Ant TC 1's Dispatch label. "Recollection" starts with a tense, taught metallic warping synth and swiftly falls into a tough, terse stepper of epic proportions. A skewed vocal element is only hinted at, and heavily manipulated SFX add a touch of the industrial, while the bassline murmurs below like an oily pool of darkness. "Desert Heat" brings in the production talents of Cern for an outstanding venture into the unknown - watch out for the weighty sub bass pressure and pummelling drums, which drive this one along for the duration. Gnarly!

Review: With previous releases on more prestigious drum and bass labels than you could shake a stick at, Nymfo has been cooking up a storm since his first producer outings with Icicle back in 2007. Already a highly-respected DJ, he's one of the few 'newer' producers the likes of Friction, Goldie and Teebee shower with praise year on year. This time Klute's got his hands on the man himself to release "Suddenly / Air Jacks" on Commercial Suicide and it doesn't disappoint. "Suddenly" seethes with tension, with big swollen bass and beautiful melodic piano brightening up the whole track. "Air Jacks" turns the flip into a tightly condensed stepper, with punchy kicks and nasty, nasty bass. Claustrophobic in the extreme, if you've not been to a club where this track tears it up, you're not frequenting the right establishments.
