Review: From the dedicated funk fans at Colemine Records, this split single from Californian rootsy funkers On The Spot Trio shines - thanks to the lashings of Hammond organ, raw funky drumming (a la Bernard Purdie or Jabo Starks) and vintage chanking guitars. Lead tune "Suction" comes in at a fast and furious tempo while the slower and more grooved-out "Critically Acclaimed Shit" reminds of Jimmy Smith in his prime.
