Review:
Dance music's Mr Big, Pete Tong, may not host the Essential Mix anymore, but he's still out there, rocking it at the biggest events and generally being a big, populist DJ. Teaming up with SYF, Pete now presents this accessible and catchy hands-in-the-air piano-led anthem that will have folks singing it for months to come. Hot Since 82 are on remix duties, supply a slightly darker, deep and fizzy late night version.

Review:
Still a global force in dance music, on radio or on the DJ circuit, not to mention as a kingmaker to hundreds of producers, Pete Tong swaps rolls on this rare outing as a tune crafter. Toolroom's release sees Tong melt together subtle electro bass, a touch of acid bleepiness and a rocksteady progressive groove on "Wardance". Matthias Tanzmann steps up to remix the big man - adding a more stripped-down and tribal flavour - while Tom Flynn's mix proves to be a mainroom classic in the making, thanks to its elegant use of Latin percussion and vacuum-packed grooves.

Review:
It's hard to imagine what minimal techno artists like Gary Beck and Spain's Paco Osuna are doing on a Defected compilation. However, Beck's contributions display none of his usual white knuckle fury, and the rolling grooves of "Hands in Mine" and "Get Down" are full of seductive vocals and filters. The same can be said of Osuna's collaboration with Daniel Sanchez, a deep, summery groove propelled by a sexy filter. There are darker moments on this compilation, like Riva Starr's own bleepy, analogue version of Cajmere's "Percolator", but in the main, it focuses on the style favoured by Osuna, Beck and the ivory tinkling, jazzy nuanced tracks from Guti & Dubshape, Santos and Deniz Kurtel.

Review:
Defected drop this excellent compilation ahead of Tong's third consecutive summer of Wonderland parties in Ibiza; it comes stuffed to the gills with future summer anthems and a few exclusive mixes courtesy of Gorillaz, Cassius and DJ Hell. Tong's selection gets the balance between future classics and favourites just right throughout. Monster hits like Dennis Ferrer's 'Hey Hey' nestle nicely up against new tunes like Mendo's excellent Latin-leaning "Aventura", or the deep and funky 'Back To Panorama's Love' by Carlo Toma which features some epic builds that will clearly devastate floors this summer. Elsewhere, Cassius' filter classic "1999" gets rejigged with style by Tim Green while Jimpster's take on Josh Wink's "Jus Right" breaks out the old-school 808 hi-hats and works it into a devastating house nugget. Tong's own mix of Gorillaz "Stylo" is an instant winner, saving the vocals for a deep and epic build-up, while Digweed's edit of DJ Pierre's 'Cruel Intentions' remix is worth the price of the album alone.
