Petre Inspirescu At Juno Download

Review: Like Omar S and Ricardo Villalobos before him, Petre Inspirescu has set himself an unenviable task, namely to fill a Fabric mix CD entirely with original productions (with one exception). Given that the Romanian producer is known for his flowing minimal house, this had the potential to turn into 70 minutes worth of samey, pared back rhythms. Thankfully, Inspirescu has avoided going down the one-dimensional route; tripped out piano keys, jazzy nuances and chilling violins - recorded for the mix - are fused with shrill operatic vocals, while the mix reaches its apex on the 56th minute with Inspirescu's sensuous woodwind arrangements dispelling any chance that Fabric 68 will descend into mindless minimal plod.
