Review:
Weeks is one of the mainstays of the French house scene and on Creative Thinking, he shows his passion and knowledge of all its different forms. The title track features a buzzing acid line fused with a playful piano line that bubbles and ebbs through a rolling rhythm and dubby, robust drums. It's a tripped out affair that recalls the Parisian scene's fascination with acid a decade ago. "Make up Your Mind" is influenced by disco sounds, as an insistent riff is looped to infinity, while "Stay Stayin" also takes its lead from disco sample. On that occasion however, Weeks uses a jacking rhythm that is pure Chicago as the track's basis.

Review:
For his next release, Robsoul boss Phil Weeks drops three new, original house productions for the imprint's 86th release. The Fear of the Next School EP kicks off with the deep, grumbling basslines of "The Grind" before launching into some untamed, pure house music. "We The Brand" is more pumping, letting its robust 4/4 drive the track forward before we finish on the jazz influenced stylings of "Fear of the Next School"

Review:
The third in a series of limited white label releases from Monsieur Phil Weeks makes the transition to the digital realm and it's his best in some time. Naturally with a Robsoul release you know the standard will be high, but the excellent Dance Girl triple hitter is still a cut above. The series is all about showcasing Weeks' craft for vintage sample manipulation, excellent usage of the 909 and overall mastery of the Akai MPC3000 and he demonstrates it with aplomb here! Head straight for "P's Theme" that's on some Kenny Dope meets Kenny Dixon Jnr level and will slay any dancefloor it encounters!

Review:
Following his acclaimed Love Affair album from 2011, Parisian house master Phil Weeks delves back into the crates to find hundreds more beats and breaks to fuel his MPC. "Raw Instrumental" is the result - an extremely accomplished mix of house, funk and hip-hop that lets the breaks do the talking. One's to look for in particular are the psychedelic bass loops of "Dirty Groove" and the tight, Walter Gibbons-esque production of "Disco Groove".

Review:
Summon the robot chorus - Phil Weeks is back. This time out, the Parisian deep house veteran has teamed up with fellow Robsoul artiste Dan Ghenacia for a three-track dancefloor assault. Opener "Deeper" sounds like the sort of deep house cut a bunch of service droids would make aboard the Starship Enterprise - all C3PO bleeps, clanking percussion and cybernetic chords. "First Step" sees the same droids recruit R2D2 to play bass on an intergalactic four-four funk-jam, while "No Way Can You Sleep" sees the droids make way for characters from early Japanese computer games. All, of course, are dancing their pixels off to some smashing bleep-house. In summary: metallic.
