Pursuit Grooves At Juno Download

Review: NYC-based artist Pursuit Grooves follows up her 2010 release on Pinch's Tectonic imprint ("Foxtrot Mannerisms") with a very strong debut LP that should appeal to electronic music fans from across the spectrum. Throughout the eleven tracks we are treated to such offerings as "Transformation Of Consciousness" with its tribal element, didgeridoo-esque b-line and Chicago house influences; then there's the stuttering funk of "Type Send Universe". The glitchy, woozy rhythms and hazy atmospherics of "Bedazzled" and French film sampling finale "What About?" add a touch of soulful allure. Overall, a great package and well worth checking out.
