Review:
After seeming to slip by most with his debut LP two years ago, Rudi Zygadlo is back with a new single befitting his otherworldly name. In the opening strains of heavily processed piano that flits forwards and backwards at once, you already feel the exciting chill of uncertainty that only grows stronger listening to "Melpomene." It's provocative music that proudly displays Zygadlo's compositional prowess as accomplished melodies and chord progressions dance around his stark vocal delivery, while the production itself swerves and drops with glorious unpredictability. It's a captivating blend that doesn't let up even as the strangely Queen-esque take on bass music of "Arrows" wobbles around in an arch modern pop shakedown.

Review:
Rudi Zygadlo is a poetic young visionary based in London circa now, but whose heart (or at least some of it) lies in Vienna at the turn of the last century. Unanimously acclaimed, Tragicomedies, is full to the brim of classical piano flourishes, layered vocals and quirky electronica. "Russian Dolls" sounds like a malfunctioning Daft Punk circa Discovery, "Tragicomedy" features almost Queen-like vocal complexities over a stop/start rhythms and tracks like "Black Rhino" are almost beyond categorisation! That said, "On' can probably claim to be world's first 'opera-hop' record. Overall: a unique and enchanting new talent.
