Review:
The Slam duo has an enviable back catalogue - but the remixers commissioned for this fourth remix instalment do an excellent job. French artist Oxia turns "Human" into a killer club techno affair, its stuttering, spluttering Basic Channel rhythm underscoring a full-blooded bassline and filtered chord builds. Harvey Mackay's take on "Alien Radio" is even more upfront as hammering beats and sheet metal percussion provide the basis for eerie, spooky synth lines. The most radical transformation happens on Cosmin TRG's take on "Visions", the seductive electro pop track featuring Dot Allison's vocals. Dropping sleek, shuffling snares and billowing chords, the bass rolls in Cosmin's inimitable style.
