Squarewave At Juno Download

Review: The rising East London based producer Squarewave (fans of dubstep facts will know him as the brother of Sukh Knight ) steps up with some serious fire on the newly minted Boka imprint. We are introduced to the Squarewave sound by "Snitch", which is a low-end wobbly roller, with growling bass line and rib-shattering sub bass pressure that should get the dancefloors quaking. "Dirty Game" picks up exactly where "Snitch" left off with whooping SFX, grouchy squelches of bass and a threatening vocal in the background adding a gentle sense of menace to the proceedings.

Review: The initials VIP have lost their mysticism these days... Sometimes all it takes is a key change or melody variation on two fills and it's a VIP. But not this one. Sukh Knight has given this such a bright new sparkly coat of armour it actually makes his brother's original sound a little dull and colourless (ouch!). Don't worry, Squarewave isn't to be outdone; "Heartbeat Dub" shows off a more reflective, melodic, deeper side. And his own VIP of "Dirty Game" is another example of a refreshing, exciting re-take.
