Review:
Named after a block of flats off Cambridge Heath Road in Bethnal Green, Sunlightsquare have slowly become global exponents of Latin funk and soulful cosmodelica - as evidenced on this new full-length release on their own, self-titled label. Traces of Rotary Connection, Sergio Mendes, Bob James, Roy Ayres and Stevie Wonder litter the ten tracks here - with standouts including the intimate carnival sway of "Summer Night" and the dubby piano jazz of "AB Three".
