Tomas Barfod At Juno Download

Review: WhoMadeWho drummer Tomas Barford has recently ramped up his solo output, producing a range of atmospheric, folksy deep house cuts for the likes of Get Physical and Mirau. "November Skies", from his Salton Sea full length, is a near perfect example, sitting somewhere between shuffling deep house and leftfield pop. The admirable original, complete with an excellent vocal from friend Nina Kinert, is joined by a wealth of excellent remixes. Top of the list is a superb, piano-laden recreation from Italians Do It Better types Nite Jewel - complete with skittish, garage-influenced drums - and a spiralling remix from Hotflush's premier leftfield post-dubstep crew Sepulcure. The grandiose downtempo version from Jerome LOL is pretty tasty, too.
