Review: The House of Disco site launches its new label endeavour of the same name with an impeccable selection of cosmopolitan sounds from four of the contemporary disco scene's most valued selectors. The ubiquitous Nicholas kicks things off with the slinking "Talking About Love" which leans on a soul classic with aplomb, and it's matched by the most upwardly mobile number on this release from Australia's Francis Inferno Orchestra. "Sun Up" is driven by one of those incessantly energetic filtered cores and surrounded by a thumping groove and leaves you gasping for the moment the vocal hook and hats finally kick in. Up next everyone's favourite South American dwelling East European exponent of super slow disco does his thing on "Outstanding" whilst Psychemagik indulges in some carnival leaning house boom on "Carnaval De Transoco". A deft release that corners all aspects of the modern discoteria needs.

Review: In the realm of contemporary disco, few can match Toomy Disco in the inexorable rise stakes! In the space of little over twelve months the (far too talented for his age) Buenos Aires residing Romanian has climbed from an ever expanding pool of soundcloud wannabes to critical acclaim. Already this year Toomy Disco has treated us to a rather fine long player in the shape of Bedroom Tricks - with a certain risque touch gracing both the track titles and the seedy disco sounds, he might just pick up the filthy stick from In flagranti! And now he comes forth with this cheeky one track drop for Umalu - and fans of the aforementioned LP will be all over "Le Baton" like a cheap suit. Driven by a fat filled analogue arpeggio and nicely spaced drums, there's a delicious chuggy sensation to the track that please many a disco DJ.

Review: Having recently impressed with a sensuous rework of the Gap Band's "Outstanding" on the first (excellent) House of Disco 12", Romanian-in-Argentina Toomy Disco returns with an EP of original nu-disco jams for Undertones Gang. Both lead cut "Palas Atenea" (our pick) and B-Side "Blink" employ a wide-eyed fusion of woozy, star-gazing synths, rave-inclined bottom end head-nodding midtempo dub disco grooves, immensely pleasing with their unfussy simplicity. There's a trio of jolly, smile inducing remixes to check out, too, with Silver City Space's smooth, bleep-laden effort delivering a standout mix of dancefloor thrills and glistening Balearic touches.

Review: The continual ascent of Argentina dwelling disco deviant Toomydisco is charted further by the producer's debut appearance on Under The Shade in the company of some fine remixes. Possibly the most potent example of the power of Soundcloud, in little over a year Toomy Disco has graduated from releasing productions via the website to dropping disco heat on some truly stush imprints. "Static Marauder" finds the Buenos Aires resident in languid form, pushing out shimmering disco rhythms over a bubbling 808 flecked groove that sits perfectly amidst your warm-up armoury. The accompanying remix from Mario Basanov is much more spritely, with excellent rhythmic stabs and vocal intonations riding the flexing live disco beat with satisfying aplomb - just wait for the explosion of pianos! Alphabet City also remixes the track, showing off his talent for crafting loopy hypnosis and cascading showers of analogue texture. Another original track in the shape of "Disco Lights" ends this release on a decidedly Gatekeeper-go-Balearic vibe.

Review: The moustached disco avengers at Sccucci Manucci drop their latest missive, featuring more transmissions from the disco underground. Argentinean based Toomy Disco provides "What Goes Around", a tightly produced disco-house number with horn snippets woven around low-slung grooves, whilst The Glue deliver "Without You" a hazy slo-mo looper with vocal teases and hypnotic guitar licks. South West Seven lock themselves into a fast moving groove with "What Have I Got To Do", a track that contrasts its fast rhythmic pulse with vocals and guitars that slowly emerge from the filtered ether. Aeromaschine close proceedings with "Deep Champagne"; combining a deep and melodic bassline with improvisational touches and glitchy vocal stutters, it successfully forges its own sound whilst keeping in line with his disco counterparts.
