Review: The Rebel MC and Top Cat are two names that need no introduction to dancehall or jungle aficionados. Seasoned veterans, the two prolific MC's have been putting out music since the early 80s, so the two collaborating is definitely something to get excited about. Featuring snippets from classic Top Cat tunes such as "Push Up Ya Lighter" and "Love Mi Ses", this sample spotters paradise of a release also features snippets of other famous tunes from Cypress Hill, John Holt, Sound Dimension, Wayne Smith and Barrington Levy. Review: One of jungle's most distinctive micsmiths, Top Cat's succinct smoky politics are declared loud and clear on both Pankik and M Rode's 2009 version and a brand new rub from jump-up supremo Heist. The former is undiluted skank bounce garnished with vibrant party vibes on every farting bass bump. The latter, however, couldn't be filthier. Heist's saw-toothed abilities seemingly know no bounds at present - droning, hollow tones hold hands with rasping, waspy growls to form yet another marriage in floor-fuelling shock out harmony.
