Review:
Zero T's dreadnought-heavy bass in his remix of "Lightweight" is anything but. We can only imagine he's being sarcastic. Lucidly wriggling and squirming through tight breaks and booming kick drums, there's a real feeling of movement in this track, of not only stepping forward but reacting in a huge depth of sound. Really impressive stuff. Mutated Forms have had a string of heavy-as-you-like releases on a number of impressive labels since they broke into the scene with their own brand of filthy beats. Their VIP of fan favourite "Best Served Cold" proves their might is heavier than their bite, adding slick rhythms and a big fat bassline to an already impeccable dance floor filler. Both tracks are killing it in clubs already, don't sleep.

The third part of the Shogun Audio Evolution EP series brings us a selection of tracks from Rockwell, Total Science, D Bridge, Alix Perez and The Prototypes. Rockwell's "Constantcomplexrhythmicsound" is, well, just that! "Feel Me" is classic Total Science with percussive breaks, yearning vocal and ominous bassline, and then D Bridge brings us a slice of deep, dreamy atmospheric D&B with "Not What You Want". The Jubei remix of Alix Perez's "Myriads" is a dark, bassline roller whilst The Prototypes take things dancefloor with their momentous VIP of "Subterrestrial". Amazing and expansive as ever, don't miss out on this one.

Review:
It might come as a surprise to some that legendary house label Toolroom are now releasing D&B, but what better track for them to release than a delightful, vocal-led piece from Total Science & SPY featuring Riya & Dam Funk? This is everything you expect and more from such a marriage of talents. Expect lush, syrupy sweet vocals from Riya, and production prowess from the rest as they pair fresh, fizzling atmospherics with ticking jungle breaks and plenty of spaced out SFX. This one's a hands-in-the-air classic.

Next on DJ Die's legendary Clear Skyz label come a couple of killer cuts from long standing and much respected D&B veterans Total Science and rising stars Need For Mirrors. Well, hardened junglists will be pleased to hear that "Dramaz" is everything you could hope for - kicking the release of with a shimmy of grinding bass, rallying vocal and shuffling breaks, this is old skool to the core with a 21st century twist. Listen to this in a proper system and crank up the bass! Accompanying this is "Limits Of Control" which brings in the vocal talents of Edward Oberon for a lush little roller with lolloping sub bass and pounding drums. A tidy release here.

Review:
A joyous and soulful D&B tune from production duo Total Science, who have great form with releases on Metalheadz, True Playaz and DJ Marky's Innerground label. "Redlines" is a proper standout, largely thanks to the soft and seductive vocals of Riya which balances out the beats nicely. With the vocals syncing so sweetly with the chopped up chords of "Redlines", Total Science thankfully let the track breathe and don't over egg the tune at all. "Flipside Skinz" makes the perfect companion - coming in harder with more attitude via some sick basslines and drums. Another quality cut from a team who know the art of drum and bass back to front.

Review:
Scene stalwarts and undisputed D&B legends Total Science head over to Blackout Music for their next release, which comes in the form of "Trespass" - a tough, menacing cut with acerbic breaks, hissing hi-hats sitting on top a rumbling b-line and disorientating ragga vocal sample. Then it's over to Metalheadz's finest, Jubei, who goes in on the remix of "No Justice" with just the aplomb you would expect - sweeping synths, crackling SFX and the gnarliest Icicle-meets-Enei-esque bassline. Killer!

Something very special here as much loved and lauded D&B outfit Total Science's collaboration with Hospital's latest signing SPY, gets remixed by Bristol based D&B-ster Break. Teasing out key elements of the original, Break adds his own trademark stamp on "Going In Circles" with a powerful b-line and punchy breaks, which underpin the iconic vocal. Accompanying this is another excellent cut - "Whoonga" - which is full of withheld tension, curious SFX, steam-powered drums and rough, rollicking bassline pressure. An essential for any devoted D&B head - this one's a killer!

Review:
As three great musical minds meet, so the Ghostrider EP is born and with it comes a barrage of bass-driven beauty with eerie Metalheadz style atmospherics, deep b-lines and taught, metallic breaks. Having been duly championed by Bailey on his 1Xtra show, the title track is the pick of the bunch with a heavier than thou kick, yearning synthline and tech-laden drums. "Magic Hour" meanwhile gets a bit more experimental before falling into a deep bassline roller. Cheeky "Street Sweeper" blends urban atmospherics with quirky SFX and smashing drum thwacks, Kevin J King adds a touch of soul in "Past Lives" and ominous end piece "Castaway" concludes the EP.

Review:
Total Science & SPY team up for another killer collab on Teebee's Subtitles imprint. "Venus Prime" kicks off with a hissing, ticking intro full of tension before falling into the main tune with Metalheadz style murmuring atmospherics and tripping breaks, underpinned by bass rumbles and a creepy vocal sample. Rolling along for the duration, this is one for the 3am heads, no question. "Narrow Margin" sees the pair team up with Russian 'headz signing Lenzman for another slice of stripped back loveliness, with watery atmospherics, tough acerbic breaks and enormous bassline pressure. An excellent release that will have committed junglists foaming at the mouth!
