Valentino Kanzyani At Juno Download

Review: One of the most high-profile purveyors of the European party techno sound of the early 00s returns with a radically different approach. "Mirvan" sets out Valentino Kanzyani's sound on this release, a stripped back minimal groove soaked in acid and leading eventually to a dreamy, swirling denouement. "Chanta Lopez" is a more reduced affair, with only wayward claps accompanying the lithe rhythm. "Una Noche En Paraiso" meanwhile features dense drums and what could be Nu Groove-style flutes playing out over a squelchy bass. Best of all though is "El Circulo De La Vida (Dub)", where eerie atmospherics float in and out of a conga-led minimal rhythm. As reinventions go, it's impressive.
