Review:
Since dancefloors began being dominated by a combination of releases from Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap, Hot Creations, Visionquest and Crosstown Rebels, there's a distinct flavour for success. Here, this flavour - retro-futurist acid house with a dash of hip-house, synth-pop or disco to flavour - is tweaked with aplomb by the more UKG-inclined Waze & Odyssey. "2 Cool 2 Clap" (oh, the irony etc), "Feels Good" and "Keep Going" all sound like Hot Creations does garage, which is surely a guarantee for good times! The fact that the tracks themselves are actually pretty good - enormous fun, but far from cheesy - adds to the feeling that Waze & Odyssey are set for big things.

Review:
Having spotted an opportunity to reclaim '90s revivalism with his rebooted Madtech label, Kerri Chandler turns to the equally hyped Waze & Odyssey to deliver some heady, late night thrills. Predictably, they deliver, offering a selection of tracks that meld cut-up vocal wails and smooth atmospherics to punchy '90s drums. Both "Be Right There" and "Ride The Rhythm" tread a similar path, focusing the action around mutant vocal samples and well-observed '90s house sonics. Citizen provides the obligatory remix of the title track, shuffling the elements around and adding some extra percussive pressure.

Review:
Having previously impressed with seriously hyped releases on Throne of Blood, Disco Bloodbath, Southern Fried and Madtech, Waze & Odyssey bring their particular brand of retro-futurist fodder to Dirt Crew. There's naturally plenty of bounce to the ounce, with the decidedly garage-influenced title track offering just the right balance between sub-heavy ravery and sinewy deep house shuffle. The brighter, less intense "All For Me" offers similar thrills, albeit with a sunnier disposition. The ever-reliable Detroit Swindle remixes "Please Don't Dance", offering a typically bouncy, anthemic rework that bears all the hallmarks of classic, mid-90s Danny Tenaglia.

Review:
There's no doubt that 2012 has been Waze & Odyssey's year. In the nine months since the turn of the year, they've gone from unknown deep house producers to celebrated garage revivalists. This is thanks to a series of releases that catch the zeitgeist whilst sounding like they could have been made in 1992. "Turn The Volume On" is another killer in the same mould, delivering thunderous (but swinging) drums, "Show Me Love"-ish riffs and just the right amount of cut-up vocal samples. "Rejected" tweaks the formula slightly - check the loose drums and relentless chiming melodies - but still sounds like it was designed to make people lose it in New York basements somewhere around 1994. Given the current climate, both tunes will no doubt be massive.
