Yosi Horikawa At Juno Download

Review: Japanese soundboy Yosi Horikawa drops his second ever release on Leeds-based First Word and with it he brings us some fine sound design work, indeed. This guy's been at it since the tender age of 12, so you can imagine the time he's spent honin his craft and this release is pretty darn good. The title track is a galloping bundle of claps and features the talents of Jesse Boykins III, Anon and Grayson, not to mention a rather fine parade of sax work. "Dots" is the standout though and would put most MPC producers to shame, featuring programming so tight it'll send your panties in a twist. Also included is a sparser, more convoluted version of the title track - call it a dub version if you will.
