Review: For the 20th instalment of the happy-go-lucky Bomb Strikes bootleg series, label regulars Moquee and Pimpsoul join forces. Those who've enjoyed their previous work will no doubt be salivating already - or at least dribbling profusely. "Keep Pounding" is typical of their cheeky, party-hearty style, turning shuffling classic "The Beat Goes On" into a snappy, stepping, glitch-laden breaks banger. "Let It Pop", meanwhile, wobbles and raves in all the right places, lacing a familiar hip-hop vocal over a typically pounding backdrop. Closer "Do It" sits somewhere between the two tracks, cutting up Chic's "Le Freak" and adding a silly, rectum-slackening bassline to propel things forward.

Review: A host of mash-up treats with a breaks edge on this latest release from the Tru Funk label. Beak Machine's brilliantly camp electro classic "Break Dance Party" (written by Village People svengali Jacques Morali fact fans) gets a very fun overhaul by Warson, who also reworks Sylvester's "You Make Me Feel" accapella over a nu-funk beat. Warson & DJ Noz also bring some wobble to Labelle on "Ghetto Sisters" while the chopped up disco of "Sometimes" is kept nice and simple yet floor-shaking at the same time.

Review: An offshoot of UK label Riddim Fruit, Booty Fruit is an imprint dedicated to mash-ups, bootlegs and edits that drops Homemade Bullets as its first release this week. Mr. Mention melts the Stereo MCs' "Connected" with the accapella from "Classic", a prestigious posse cut from a couple of years ago featuring Nas, Kanye, Rakim and KRS-1, while Dedy Dread cooks up a fun mix of chirpy reggae and Wyclef Jean. Funk Ferret chooses to add some big beats to UB40's perennial classic "Red Red Wine", and to round things off, One Funky Soul gives Jeru Tha Damaja a Northern Soul twist on "So Called Bro's".

Review: By now, we should all know what to expect from bootleg specialists Bombstrikes - tried-and-tested mash-ups underpinned by floor-friendly breakbeats. This latest instalment comes from rising breaks star Badboe, who offers two soul-flecked groovers. Both are slightly less hectic and full-throttle than previous Bombstrikes releases, but that's no bad thing. "Shine Like A Halo" fuses a bouncing, midtempo break with wobbly (but surprisingly subtle) bass, the obligatory hip-hop samples and a dash "Son of a Preacher Man". "Masterpiece", meanwhile, takes a similarly soulful approach, contrasting Jurassic 5 raps with sweet soul vocal snatches at a dancefloor hip-hop tempo. The most cultured Bombstrikes release for some time - and that's a compliment.

Review: A huge release, with some equally huge remixes, as breaks kings Stanton Warriors wrap Ruby Goe's vocals around a swathe of bassy licks and gnarled leads on "Shoot Me Down". Herve weighs in heavy with a classy mix of Korg M1 organ leads and sampled drums giving it a nice mix of early-'90s rave/house and modern sonics, while Steep's Moombahton mix slows things right down and adds some glorious bleep leads. Sigma's mix however is clearly going to be the one that gets caned by DJs - a furious dubstepper with an enormous, double-time build that simply defies description! Huge stuff indeed.

Here, Pimpsoul and Neon Steve make their debut on the long-established breaks bootleg/mash-up imprint, offering up a trio of heavyweight jams. As ever, all three have that typical Bomb Strikes vibe, which marries tried and tested breaks and back passage-bothering bass with just the right amount of rap and some sneaky little melodic hooks. Review: A stellar partnership for this latest volume in Bombstrikes' series of funk 'n' breaks party weapons, which came about after Ali B called in on Nick Thayer during a recent Australian tour. The pair fuse together a wild set of influences and sounds, as on opener "Music" which evokes Cypress Hill, Jay Z and classic '60s soul whilst still staying true to their block-rocking breaks sound. "NE Way" dips into a riff made famous by Dillinger and pimps it out gloriously with heavy drums while "Back To You" samples a line from one of De La Soul's classics and adds a Moog-ish bassline and all manner of funky sampled breaks.

Review: This is a bit of a treat for funk breaks fans, as leading label Boogie Boutique gathers together a selection of its finest floor-filling bangers. With cheeky mash-ups and bootleg remixes from the likes of Hayz, Ursula 1000 and Nick Fonkyson, there's much to enjoy, not least the sheer silliness of some of the rump-shaking fusions. Check, for example, the anthemic grooves of Nine Lives The Cat's "Let Me In" (a brilliantly executed fusion of "Just Be Good To Me" and "Cross The Tracks") or Badboe's "Show Me Ghetto".
