Here we find Sub Slayer Skanx delving deep into jungle heritage with a muddy roller that packs the same foggy, radar-ridden breakbeat punch as the Meat Beat Manifesto's "Radio Babylon". For a more contemporary dub twist head for 6BLOCC's remix; stripping things back to a nagging 4/4 sub thump, it's the perfect blend of trad dub and stark future-minded bass music. Review: Homeboy Stex lands on his favourite Young NRG Productions for another hip-twisting, ear-shattering house-breaks appointment. This time we get the original mix, a 4/4 bric-a-brac of shuffling percussion, squawking low frequencies, sci-fi atmospherics and breaky electro tones, surely making this an instant classic on whichever dance floor it lays its clutches on. Review: Dub Police are on fire as of late, and this latest unmixed collection of tracks from the one like Subscape really speaks for itself - over 35 tunes long, he paints a fine picture of the latest in bass news; his initial "I Need You", coupled with other tracks like "Just Coz", "Graveyard Shift" or "Beautiful People" are perfect examples of his own skills as a true modern bass scientist. There's plenty to be heard here but if we have to pick some highlights, then we'd go with Pixel Fist's "Let Yourself Go", a raucous wobble-stepping jungle mutant, "Beneath The Fold" by Mydas, another bass-emitting belter, or even "The Promise" by Breakage, a surprisingly balearic 4/4 spin-off. In all honesty though, Subscape gets it right from start to finish.

Review: It's a meeting of minds on this long player with rootsy German label Root Down releasing this much-anticipated album from Korean-German 'future dancehall' act Symbiz Sound. There's plenty of tunes, 15 in total here, many of which featuring either the talents of ZHI MC or Feral Is Kinky. Highlights include the sweet sounding lovers rock of opener "Soundboy Dead", the bassy, ghetto-hop of "Ruff Ride", the digital dancehall of "Down Under" and the sheer tribalism of "Bad So".
