Review:
Stex's journey around the solar system touches down closer to home as we hit "Earth". With the jaunty, glitchy acid-based groove you could be fooled into thinking the landing will be bumpy, but with a heaven-sent synth blast on the drop, it's actually one of Stex's smoothest inter-planetary connections to date. Looking to land with a little more glamour and mischief? Head for the percussion heavy vocal version. Happy landings!

Review:
A finer schooling in contemporary Detroit soul you will not find; Mr De - AKA ghettotech legend Ade Manior - digs deep and curates another fine collection from his label's back cat. Each track is a highlight, from De's own electroboogie theme tune to his deeper, more emotion-rich house projects as Renaissance. Naturally Underground Resistance's Galaxy 2 Galaxy joints are a major drawer; if the proto-anthem "Jupiter Jazz" and the more meandering robo cloud jazz of "Inspiration" aren't in your collection now is the time to get up to speed.

Review:
Is it just us or are Basement Freaks albums getting funkier and funkier? As hinted with their Soul Digga EP last winter, the trio just keep getting more organic and authentic, this being their most engaging, juiciest funk LP to date. From the Alabama 3 meets the Daptones style "Gimme More" to the insanely authentic Parliament skit "Disco Boy" via the mild skank bounce, organ noodling and Troutman crooning on "Red Light Streets", this really is party dynamite. Basement Freaks are ruling the nu-funk scene right now.

Review:
It's another booty and funk bonanza from the Funkosol crew! "Perfect Combination" rubs Led Zep up against Cypress Hill and Wyclef Jean. "The Man From DelMonty" shoves the Spin Doctors into the smoochy cupboard with a barrel of bass. "Move Your Feet" and "Right On Everybody" take us directly into funky town while "Discogirls" ups the tempo for a super sexy disco fun finale with Donna Summer. Perfect summer party nuggets, the lot of them.
