Review:
Although we're glad to see the back of winter, it's OK to greet this "Verge Of Winter" with warm arms. Bristolian producer, Zoon Van Snook, began by playing keyboards in any indie band that'd have him. He made the jump into making his own electronica a few years ago and has received much acclaim. Following recent album "The Bridge Between Life & Death", ZVS is back with this new one-off featuring maudlin cello over trip-hop beats and tinkling piano. Isan remixes it in a gentle bottle-playing style while Sir Doufuss Styles summons the ghost of early Air for his mix.

Review:
Typically poetic Italian collective Lunare Project 'select and merge styles from different worlds' at sophisticated early evening events (usually on yachts). Don't call them DJs though; they insist they are simply a group of guys who are 'just a little crazy'. This LP sees the guys launch a new compilation series that pays tribute to certain experiences they've had, this one inspired by a certain party held at Grand Hotel Santa Lucia. Included are tracks by fellow lunatics including the elastic funk of Crazy Penis, the jazzy broken beat of Max Sedgley and the velvety synth work of Santorini.

Review:
We can always rely on French funkateers Soulab to keep us supplied with regular selections of vintage sounding modern soul gems. This latest compilation features a host of their regular artists and once again the quality is up there. Highlights include the futuristic electro-funk of LA Mitchell's "The Ease", the hazy g-funk vibes of Uraz Kurt's "Remember The Light", the dark, broken electro-hop of Isaac Aesili's "Freedom Cry" and the crazy garage boogie shuffle of Proser & Azaxx's "Prince Is Not Dead".
