Review:
Ahead of his much anticipated forthcoming album 'If It Were You, We'd Never Leave', Brooklyn's Anjunadeep and Anjuabeats regular delivers one of his finest productions to date (which is really saying something). With support coming in from as wide a spectrum as Zane Lowe and Rob Da Bank, it's fair to say he is looking outside the box. Featuring a stunning vocal performance from Norway's Ane Brun, which sits beautifully above his trademark dreamy layers, you are in for a real treat. The deeper and more atmospheric Ghosting Season mix is also worth checking.

Review:
Following on from his well-received recent EP Sleep With Stars, multi-instrumentalist
Gabriel Benn is back with a new single and new inspiration. Although "Singing In The Dark" does again feature Africa (here, Ghana), Benn also looked to Columbia for extra musical flavour. The result is this four-track single that features his signature brittle soultronica sounds with all kinds of haunting and fascinating samples and sounds. Highlights include the ghostly garage of the title track and the downtempo RnB of "Wake'.

Review:
They say that Tuesday's child is full grace. It's certainly true of the productions of Tuesday Born, aka multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Benn. This release sees him leave behind his previous fascinations with Africa and South America to a slightly more traditional North American sound. The quality doesn't suffer though, as "Wake" is a strong take on the Stateside RnB ballad and is successful thanks to a deep and jazzy female vocal. Remixes come from One Inch Punch (shuffle-step) and Pale (broken micro-garage).

Review:
Dubby hip-hop producer Jugoe (aka Jude Goergen), took a recent hiatus from the music biz but has since relocated to Chicago and is feeling a new fire in his creative loins. "Kingpin" is his return, and with its aquatic synths and dreamy, almost cosmic dub effects, we're certainly glad to have him back. Prottasov handles the remix and actually manages to make it even dubbier! The deep 'n' moody "Night Fumblings" is also remixed by Q-Burn who add an organic breaky jazz feel to all the atmospherics.

Review:
Germany's Barely Breaking Even label are hard nosed veterans in the game of sourcing intriguing music from the most obscure global locations. Here we have the latest from African producer Boddhi Satva,"Ngnari Konon", which appears in its original melodic groove-based guise, as well in remixed form (15 in total!). Satva's main patron, house legend Louie Vega, provides four mixes, the best of which is his moody and evocative "Ritual II mix". Further highlights include the baile beats-laden Boddhi Ancestral Poetry mix and John Milan's understated honeycomb mix.

Review:
Bit of a departure here for Barely Breaking Even, with arch pun-makers Roots Shoots and Leaves marking a break from the funk and soul normally associated with the German imprint. Sounding like Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner fronting a gypsy influenced New Model Army; these 13 tracks are refreshingly unique sounding. Highlights include the raucous strum-a-thon of "Trees", the rousing cover of "The Night" and the string-aided quirkiness "For Sure".

Review:
Barely Breaking Even Records have scored themselves a major coup here, with instrumental album from popular UK hip-hop DJ The Last Skeptik. Although immediately following a recent rap album with Rewd Adams, this long player is a different kettle of fish - featuring 15 prime cuts of jazzy, trip-hoppy workouts. Highlights include the g-funk of "Wig", the insanely catchy "Be There" and the surprisingly upbeat "Pick Your Battles".
