Review: Following the success of his Vanish EP, Matt Brewer aka Frameworks returns again on his new home First Word Records. In a slight move away from the jazzier stuff he's known for, "Old Friend", opts for a more widescreen Americana style with help from collaborator JP Cooper. "Fireworks" is more familiar with jazzy blue-sky trumpets and rolling drums, while Kathryn DeBoer adds a more feminine touch with her layered vocals over the gentle guitar plucks and cellos of "Breaks My Heart". Lastly "Patience" winds things down as a laidback mood piece.
