SEED ORGANIZATION
MAY 2012The producer and DJ known as The Seed Organization has been a fixture of the Winnipeg music scene for over 15 years. After experimenting with other genres early in his musical career, he was drawn to reggae after being immersed in it during a prolonged stay in London. Upon his return home, he began construction of his studio, The Green Room; so named after of a favourite area of his childhood home. The Seed Organization's productions have emerged from the studio featuring voicings by some of reggae's brightest such as Brother Culture, Papa Michigan, Daddy Scotty and Gosple Fish. He has collaborated with fellow producers Richie Phoe, Big Toe's Hi-Fi, Citizen Sound and RCola and performed alongside Dubmatix, Ghostbeard, The Herbalizer, Amon Tobin and Scientist's prodigy Desmond Williams. A longtime co-host of Quadrafunk, Winnipeg's longest running electronic music radio programme, he has recently stepped down to focus on producing and the live performance of his craft. He also co-founded Reggae Mondragon along with Theo Tzu and the silver fox; a weekly reggae dance in the all-vegan, activist restaurant, Mondragon.
