Review: Death On The Balcony and Moustache Mamas join forces to launch Hissy Fit, a brand new label dedicated to the continuing blurring of boundaries between deep house and disco. DOTB's opener "Everytime" is a great example of how to successfully marry the two genres. Cheekily ripping phrases from a classic synth-boogie vocal cut, it delivers the perfect balance between heady house hedonism and woozy late night disco. Moustache Mamas' "21 & Lewis" tiptoes further towards nu-disco territory, successfully including some neat old skool house touches to guarantee saucer-eyed dancefloor delight. DOTB closer "Gimme That Stuff" completes a killer package via warm chords and seriously rubbery synth bass.

Review: Closely following his recent release for Quintessentials, Dutch deep house producer Alex Agore delivers another four cuts of chunky NY inspired house for Development Music. "I Got Something" combines its titular vocal refrain with driving kicks and upbeat but undeniably deep melodies, creating something that sounds like it has come out a time capsule. "Bombaclat" meanwhile treads a similar path, but with even more shimmering synths to accent its warm tones. On the figurative flip, "Nothing I Wouldn't Do" takes a rhythm that his a distinctly Marc Kinchen-esque vibe to it and fuses it with epic piano melodies, while the final track, "I Don't Know Why" saves the best for last, with its languid intro leading into a sultry vocal which provides the perfect contrast to the deep, spongy bassline which adds serious depth to an already impressive production.

Review: This release lasted all of ten minutes in the warehouse when it dropped on hand sprayed one sided clear vinyl last week, which is understandable because like all Automatik Datamatik output it's rather special. If you adhere to press release gospel, the three tracks present are the glorious result of a weekend long house party somewhere outside Chicago. Adalberto aka label stalwart Fatjack kicks off with "Let Love Come Home" which is a heady combination of analogue bass, striking synth stabs and brilliantly camp male diva vocals over rasping kick drums. "House To Houze" is jacking acid house music at its most simplistic and schizophrenically finest, whilst "The Dance" combines an ESG style punk funk strut with layers of retro house keys.

Review: An excellent debut from a new crew comprising Hyperdub/Lightworks funky house producer Ossie, as well as Paul Black and Orial. Bringing some lo-fi vocal soul to UKF, the trio announce themselves with three stark but huge tracks - the shimmering and jacking title-tune, the mesmerising Detroit waves of "Nobody Knows" and the warped house of "Messing Around" - complete with background studio chatter for extra trippyness. Ossie's own mix of "Back Of My Car" is also included, and makes for an intense astral hardcore makeover that rounds off this enormously impressive introduction.

Review: Hailing from Manchester, Si'Ke DJs have the unique honour of being the first to release on Say Ahh!, the new label from house legends Marc Kinchen and Scottie Deep. On listening to the EP it seem to be a shrewd piece or A&R from the duo; the original mix of "Safe House" showcases Si'Ke DJs to have a great ear for tumbling percussion and stripped back jack tracks, while the "Deep Dub" that accompanies does exactly what it says on the tin, adding some soulful piano and Chicago referencing synth strings to the delicate vocal sample of the original. On the flipside, "Say What!" offers a similarly accomplished take on the New Jersey sound, with delicate organs combining with solid kicks, while the track's dub mix delivers another stellar offering from the pair, teasing out its vocal sample with undulating chords and a piano melody as deep as they come.
