Review:
Back in 2010, Tom Flynn was named as Pete Tong's "breakthrough producer" of the year. Since then, he's gone on to release on Mobilee, Hypercolour and Dirtybird. Here he pops up with an EP of robust, hypnotic deep house for 8 Bit. There's a warmth and fluidity present throughout the four tracks, with retro-futurist basslines and pads catching the ear. "Everything I Am" is suitably loose and wide-eyed, while the tougher "Shelter" sounds like a '90s New York house remake of Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams". "Loose Your Mind", meanwhile, feels thicker and more rigid, whilst retaining just the right amount of looseness.

Review:
For their latest journey into the world of classic house, Sweden's Local Talk crew turns to Watford-based newcomer Tommy Rawson. There's something refreshingly different about "Don't Lose It". While you can tell he's a fan of '90s house, he doesn't fall back on any of the usual cliches. Instead, he delivers a driving, bass-heavy cut that benefits greatly from a voodoo-inspired vocal - expertly teased, tweaked and cut-up - and some spine-tingling chords. "7 Days", meanwhile, sounds like classic Frankie Knuckles - all twinkling synths, tactile bass, delightful synth-strings and swinging beats - brought bang up to date. Bravo, Tommy, bravo!

Review:
Tony Tokyo debuts on Roska's Kicks and Snares imprint with "More Than A Fantasy", and rather than the flexing UKF the label is usually known for, his style is more that of the bassy, swung house of the Hypercolour camp, combining swung rhythms, dubby stabs and a cascading vocal sample. RKS regular Tickles provides his own take on the track, delivering a streamlined, techy version of the track which adds screaming synths and bouncing percussive tics.
