Review:
Those with a keen eye for detail will note that Midiman is a name of a range of midi controllers and soundcards. It's also the chosen pseudonym of Russian deep house upstarts Lenya Goosey and Sergey Silvertone. Here, they pop up on Pole Position with six tracks of super-smooth deep house. Their style is fluid and melodic, seemingly taking influence from Russian nu-Balearic disco and classic US deep house. The electrofunk-influenced shuffler "Come To Me" is our pick, though the dreamier "For The Sake Of Love" (available in two sparkling versions) and similarly disco-influenced beach house groover "Dreams Come True" run it close.

MONSOON SEASON feat MISS BEE

Review:
Following a recent single on Deep & Disco, Monsoon Season are back, again with vocalist Miss Bee, on Glam Jam. Back too is their glacial, shimmering Balearic sound, with "Too Cold For Love" being a long and bouncey electro-house roller - a track that Manolo toughens up a little and drenches in beautifully sweet synths. Finally, Satin Jackets slow things right down for a dream-like synth odyssey that makes the listener dream of palm trees and blue skies.

Here Chopshop welcome Moplen to their clan with an introductory EP of re-jigs. It's an impressive start: "Ma Foom Bey" is brooding Afro house with a slightly Chi-town undercurrent, 80s disco staple "Ain't Nothin Goin On But The Rent" gets a respectful nip and tuck while "Cavern" ends things with a way-out and noodley adaptation of Liquid Liquid's "Cavern".

How many edit series can boast reaching a tenth volume? Ok, well how many can boast of attaining ten successful ones? Here French funk party commander Morlack provides five new top-notch retweaks that take no prisoners. "Loose It" is a tight James Brown-style jam that occasionally veers into French electro territory, "Let's Boogie" is all funk grooves and tough hip-hop breaks, "Big Pill" is total rubberband disco-funk,"Capital S" is more electro-boogie and finally "Tough" wraps things up with a big ole slap bass and flute singalong!

Review:
Kojack continue to transfer the contents of their vaults to the digital realm with this latest split EP of remixes by Mike Burns. "You Can Dance" is the aural equivalent of taking a hit of poppers in the midst of a carnival with the biggest firework display exploding at the same time. In other words: a big camp monster. With a capital 'M'. "I Believe" isn't far off either - sounding like the neon-infused future-boogie featured in the 25th century disco scenes in Buck Rogers (younger readers, Google it).

Review:
Nelue is a man who knows which side his disco toast is buttered on: the floor-friendly party side. As such he doesn't hold back; Sinead O'Connor's definitive version of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" gets whisked up in a whoosh-filled blender and arrives back in bouncey, housey form. Stevie Wonder gets a furious electro-disco makeover on "Walkers" and elsewhere "The Real Deal" is attitude-heavy electroboogie and "All My Love" is an emotionally stirring anthem with belting female vocals.

Dynamicron (aka Roberto Marrero)'s Madrid-based nu-disco/edit label Los Grandes present here this new pairing of Greek DJ Nicko Marineli and producer pal, Disco B. There's four floor-melting tunes here: "Heartless" is an early 80s slap-bass slap-up, "Bar K" is freaky filtered funk, "French Bomb" is a laser-filled cocktail-spiller and "Serena Must Dance" is an authoritative electro-boogie stomper!

Review:
Not to be confused with the Noughties electro-house pairing of Matt Schwartz & Jonathan Ulysses, this Nine Lives is aspiring DJ Nick Shaw, who has been slowly building a reputation for himself with his formula of accessible piano-driven house and melodic female pop vocals. Again, "Centro" is in keeping with this approach, but hey if it ain't broke...This time in addition to the above we get searing synth lines, punk-funk bass and some great disco lasers.
