Review:
Nu-disco is in the blood of Serbian producer Milos Djordjevic aka Tonbe. But of late he's branched out, exploring the re-recording of soul classics and such. Here he sticks to his roots but applies them to a more contemporary electro house format. "You Got Me Down", featuring a female soul vocals, tough 4/4 drums and quirky keyboards, the result almost sounds like a hybrid of club music and 80s yuppie pop a la Swing Out Sister or Belouis Some. "Freaky Disco" applies the same format to an instrumental take on Rick James' "Superfreak".

Review:
Venice Beach's DJ Moar goes it alone again for the latest in his long line of classy disco re-edit EPs. The Philly in the title betrays his love of those string arrangements best found here in the lazy disco-rock of the title track. "Bass N Key" instead fuses slap bass funk, mellow keys and dreamy synths, but the highlight here is the almost warped deep and spacey loops of "New Star".

Review:
Another week, another example of more 80s-tastic joy brought to us by the Mullet crew. In a move away from their more electro-housey releases of late, this time we have a cover of Gamble & Huff's classic "Now That We've Found Love" presented to us by an act that almost sounds like an amazing mythical collaboration between the 90s ravers SL2 and a distant relative of our favourite Bo Selecta crooner (Frankie David). Anyway this cover is a musically dexterous, but still faithful, version. Remix-wise Luke Brancaccio and Tony Lovatt take things into soothing deep house territory.

Review:
London's Alex Metric is one of those rarities in a producer who flirts with various genres and refreshingly becomes un-pigeon-hole-able. From house to progressive to disco, and at the moment with EPs on Skrillex' OWSLA to this on his more traditional tip for French label Compuphonic. We loved the original, and now these remixes one again up the game. On the retro disco vibe it is all about Olivers mix, however for the progressive and house heads out there head for the wonderfully smooth Fingerpaint remix or the deeper and pacier cut from Dosem.. We are loving this!!

Review:
Russian producer Valique is back with the latest installment of his successful disco edit series. He specialises in toughened, quanitised beats, lending old stuff a modern electro-house groove. Highlights here include his highly danceable take on The Smiths' "Barbarism Begins At Home", the skippy, cut up house shuffle of "Angry Brides" and the infectious electro-funk anthem "Like Dancing".

Review:
It's clear that Australian Inkswel is of the electro-boogie persuasion and here's three tracks to prove it. "Do It" is catchy and crisp with lovely mid 80s synthpop vibes, "Tu Machito" is pure old skool electro and "LFO Bounce" is a fantastic b-boy drum box workout. Funkineven beefs up the latter hissy percussion and more melodies than you can shake a synth at.
