Review:
Somnambulant sonic flavours abound as NY house duo make their debut on Southern Fried with "Stay Up Here". Swaying with delicate pianos yet pumping with a prominent acid hook and sparkling with Miss Bee's lush vocal, it's deep without any danger of limpness. Remix-wise both Bonar Bradberry and The Rhythm Odyssey deliver the goods. Bonar spaces things out a little and adds a trippier, more yearning edge to the groove while The Rhythm Odyssey (AKA Dean Meredith from Chicken Lips) dub-funks out the whole affair with a powerful synth bassline. Lovely.

Review:
On a retro TV show, Imagination singer Lee John discussed how everybody thought they were an impossibly glamourous an beautifully produced American soul act...until they learnt that they were from Brixton. After that they were just dismissed as a camp joke. Thankfully the passing of time has proved them to be the former, resulting in many respectful tributes, if maybe one too many unnecessary re-edits. Also included are retweaks of Alphonse Mouzon's wonderful "Everybody Get Down" and the electro-squiggles/funk of Stephanie Mills' "You Can Get Over".

Review:
Every so often, somebody comes along with a genius-like idea and turns some dusty gem into dancefloor gold. That's arguably the case with "Hey Sucker", a sneaky re-edit/rework of bizarre German '80s popsters Hong Kong Syndikat. The band specialized in making the sort of eccentric, off-kilter fare that could be described as 'Balearic', so it's fitting that it's their most wide-eyed moment - 1984 album track "Samba Olec" - getting the scalpel treatment. The virtual A-side sticks closely to the original, cutting, slicing and pasting in all the right places. It's the B-side - a jaunty but surprisingly subtle house re-imagining - that probably has more potential for crossover her success. Silly, but refreshingly so.

Review:
It seems that no one is ever in a rush in Norway's nu-disco quarter. Four to five minute tracks are mere pop edits for the likes of Prins Thomas and Stevie Kotey's Full Pupp label. Here The Lionhart Brothers see their tune "The Drift" swamped by remixers like a helpless victim of hungry zombies in a George A Romero flick. Frisvold & Lindbaek deliver a creepy, pumping stomper, Morten Oby & Prins Thomas Edit go for a brooding, portentous disco-rock version and Thomas also returns for his own 'diskomiks' - a whopping 12 minutes of carefully suspended thrills.

Review:
Kojak continue to transfer the contents of their vaults to the digital realm with this latest split EP of remixes by Mike Burns. "You Can Dance" is the aural equivalent of taking a hit of poppers in the midst of a carnival with the biggest firework display exploding at the same time. In other words: a big camp monster. With a capital 'M'. "I Believe" isn't far off either - sounding like the neon-infused future-boogie featured in the 25th century disco scenes in Buck Rogers (younger readers, Google it).

Review:
Through the medium of his Dikso imprint, Daniel Solar unveils these remixes of label stalwarts Robeto Calzetta and Twin Soul (aka Remco Custers - with a name like that why change it?!). On to the music and "Faith" gets a soft n smooth Mediterranean house workover by LeSale and a thick n creamy minimal house whisk up by Hannes Fischer. Elsewhere "Walk On Us" gets a muscular electro-house pump up by Marc Poppke.
