Phrase sampler guitar effects pedal, fantastic tape echo effect and performance looper
Review: The Akai Professional E2 Head Rush combines delay, tape echo, and a looping recorder in a single pedal. User-selectable delay options allow for maximum control of output signal. Real-time feedback and gain adjustment as well as echo rate enable sounds to be shaped with precision.

The E2 Head Rush also simulates a 4-head analog-tape machine with control of decay and spacing between virtual-tape heads to create complex multiple delays and repeats. The signal from each virtual head appears on an individual output for multiple returns when used with an external mixing console or multiple amps.

Looping Recorder mode enables you to record and overdub layer after layer of sound in real-time, making the E2 Head Rush an unbelievable live performance tool.

Depending upon which mode is selected, the left footswitch controls the on/off and play/stop functions while the right footswitch sets the tap delay time or recording and overdub options. The LED display indicates which effect in use and blinks in time showing the delay time selected.

The E2 Head Rush empowers you to bring back sounds of yesterday, blend them with the ruggedness and flexibility of today's technology, and add new functionality. Every effect-pedal board needs one.

Alesis 3632 Dual Channel Compressor/Limiter/Gate
Review: The Alesis 3632 Compressor is a follow-up to the 3630 Compressor; the most popular dynamics processor ever made.

The Alesis 3632 Compressor builds on the popular design and features of its predecessor. This easy-to-use unit provides two independent full-featured compressor/ limiters in one compact rack space with excellent sonic quality for any application from studio recording to live sound or broadcast.

The 3632's compressor attack and release times can be automatically set dependent on the source material, or full manual control can be exercised. The unit can function as either two separate processors, or stereo linked to provide true stereo compression. An adjustable expander/gate and very low distortion Voltage Control Amplifiers (VCA) deliver smooth sound.

A sidechain function allows the 3632 Compressor to be placed in an external effects loop, while a second, internal sidechain employs a switchable low-cut filter to help control pumping due to heavy low-frequency content. LED meters on each channel display gain reduction and input/output levels.

With its two dedicated Level dials, you can precisely determine the amount of volume you want to send to each amp, or the level of the signals from your two instruments. A top-quality on/off switch ensures noise-free, instantaneous operation, and dual LED indicators show which inputs or output are activated. You can power the AB100 pedal with either a 9V battery or the Behringer PSU-SB DC power supply (not included).

Stereo delay & echo effects pedal
Review: The DD600 is the ultimate digital delay effects pedal for subtle to substantial echo delays. Compare it to delay boxes costing three times as much and you'll find yourself returning to this remarkable pedal every time. The pedal has dedicated Mode, Delay Time, Feedback and Level controls for awesome sound shaping, which results in 24-bit high-resolution stereo delay, echo and panning effects with delay times of up to 2000 milliseconds. Modes include 4 tempo settings, 4 delay settings (exclusive of delay time), E/D and Reverse. The featured Real Sound Modeling (RSM) processor emulates true acoustic environments, delivering ultra-realistic sound to your ears. Other features include an extra Pan Out output, a bright blue LED to indicate the power status and battery condition, as well as an electronic bypass footswitch which preserves signal integrity. The DD600 can be powered by either the Behringer PSU-SB DC power supply or a typical 9V battery.

Digital stereo reverb effects pedal
Review: You wouldn't think of using anything less than best reverb you could get in the studio. So why skimp on the 'verb at your live gig? Now you can add studio-grade reverb to any amp with the mind-blowing Digital Reverb DR600.

This 24-bit, high-resolution collection packs six of the most desired reverb types (Spring, Plate, Hall, Room, Gate and Modulate) into the ultimate to-go package. With its dual output jacks, you will dazzle your audience with true stereo reverb.

Just select the reverb type with the Mode control, and then dial in the Level, Tone and Time. It just doesn't get any easier than this. You can power the DR600 with a 9V battery or Behringer's PSU-SB DC power supply (not included).

Feedback Destroyer & Parametric EQ with 40 FBQ filters & 96 kHz sampling rate
Review: The FBQ2496 Feedback Destroyer Pro is the fastest feedback suppressor on the market (less than 0.2 seconds) and the only one to offer a 96 kHz sampling rate. This rack-mountable audio solution is the quick, easy way to protect yourself and your audience from feedback.

Using an ultra-fast feedback detection algorithm, the FBQ2496 automatically and intelligently locates up to 20 feedback frequencies per channel. The algorithm then sets extremely narrow notch filters (up to 1/60th of an octave) to eliminate feedback frequencies, leaving the remainder of your signal virtually untouched. And with the Set-and-Forget default setting, plus the Panic button, the Feedback Destroyer can be up and running in a matter of seconds.

The Auto Mode continuously monitors the mix, resetting programmed filters automatically, while the Manual Mode allows individual programming of up to 40 fully-parametric filters with frequency, bandwidth and gain adjustment. Open MIDI architecture makes future firmware updates and flexible communication with digital equipment exceedingly simple.

With the FBQ2496's various modes, you can master just about any live sound situation or use the unit as a creative sound-shaping tool. A single FBQ2496 can protect you from feedback in both your mono PA mains and a monitor mix. And the FBQ2496 is more than just handy, it's affordable!

Audiophile 31 band stereo graphic equalizer with FBQ Feedback Detection System
Review: Professional audio engineers have known for decades that a good EQ makes all the difference in how a performance is perceived. Although multi-band graphic equalizers have been around for a long time, they have changed very little, until now!

The FBQ-Pro series features a low cut filter, in addition to the frequency faders, to help remove unwanted low frequencies such as floor rumble, room resonance, or electrical hum. All three FBQ-Pro models feature a dedicated subwoofer output with an adjustable (30 - 200 Hz) cut-off frequency. Balanced XLR outs are provided so you can connect to power amps, or directly to your active subwoofers, without any additional hardware.

The ingenius Feedback Detection System circuitry helps you recognize and eliminate feedback frequencies immediately. When feedback is sensed in a specific frequency range, the LED on that frequency range's fader lights up, so you know at a glance which fader to lower to eliminate the feedback.

Behringer Ultragraph Pro series equalizers take a giant leap forward technologically, providing robust feature sets and our proprietary FBQ Feedback Detection System, at a price that makes them a must-have for anyone who records or operates a live sound system.

Ultimate filter modeling effects pedal
Review: Your guitar is designed to deliver a tasty range of tones, from rich lows to warm mids to chiming highs. But when you start pulling certain frequencies out of the equation with the help of the FM600 Filter Machine, cool and unusual things start happening.

From funky wah-like sounds to off-the-wall, vocal-like squall, the FM600 can take your sound to some truly alien territory. This pedal is equipped with Behringer's Real Sound Modeling technology to make your guitar sound like it is in an acoustically perfect environment of its own design. It must be heard to be believed!

Choose from a Band Pass, Low Pass or Twin Pass, then flip the POL switch to determine whether the filter applies to high or low frequencies. Fine-tune this funky sound with the dedicated Sensitivity, Range and Peak dials. The blue LED tells you when it's activated, and the tough On/ Off switch maintains excellent signal integrity in bypass mode. You can power the FM600 with a 9 V battery or a DC power supply (not included).

Volume and tone boost foot pedal
Review: No matter what kind of electric instrument you're playing, there are times when you need to push your sound to the next level. Nothing gets you there like the Preamp Booster PB100. Like a dose of sonic steroids, the PB100 can push a tube amp into a beautiful state of natural break-up, make piezo pickups sound punchy and powerful, or give you that extra bit of loudness or tone, to cut through during your solo.

With its dedicated Bass, Treble and Gain dials, the PB100 not only allows you play to louder, it also lets you add enhanced highs and lows to your sound. A super-bright LED tells you when it's activated, and the high-quality on/off switch maintains excellent signal integrity when operating in bypass mode. The PB100 can run on either a 9 V battery or the Behringer PSU-SB DC power supply (not included).

Classic 90 degree phase shifter pedal
Review: Looking for a pedal that provides both classic and modern phase shifting, without the steep learning curve? With just a single knob and switch, the PHASER PH9 gives you ultra-warm and bubbly phasing tones that will keep your audience totally mesmerized.

Thanks to its simple control layout, the PH9 serves up amazing 90- phase shifting with spacey warbles and mind-blowing, hypnotic swirls, with the absolute minimal amount of tweaking. Designed to withstand the rigors of the road, the PH9's build quality is second to none. A status LED for effect on/off and battery check is included, plus there is a true hard-wire bypass for the ultimate in signal integrity. Classic Stereo Tremolo & Panner Effects Pedal
Review: Put the heartbeat back into your playing with the Behringer Ultra Tremolo/Pan TP300 effects pedal.

Tremolo, the rhythmic fall and rise of volume, is one of the oldest effects ever applied to musical instruments. Pan, the shifting of the sound signal from the left to the right, is one of the most common tricks used in classic, as well as modern stereo recordings. Now you can add both of these awesome effects to your rig with a single pedal, the TP300.

Use the dedicated Depth and Rate controls to create a hypnotic pulse, then select from two different types of tremolo or pan. The blue LED tells you when it's on, and the red LED shows the rate by blinking in time with the effect. With its dual inputs and outputs, you can take advantage of a true stereo pan that's guaranteed to dazzle your audience. The TP300 can be powered by either a 9 V battery or Behringer's PSU-SB DC power supply (not included).

2 Mode Flanger Effects Pedal
Review: From vintage analog flanging to jet-plane thick chorus, vibrato and short delay, the Ultra Flanger UF300 is the flanger pedal that does it all.

The UF300 offers two modes of operation: Mode I with its negative feedback, and Mode II for positive feedback. In Mode I, the signal is inverted before it is mixed with the original. Because Mode II doesn't invert the signal, the resulting sound is more out of tune with the original, making the UF300 ideal for vibrato-style effects.

Tweak either mode with the dedicated Manual, Depth, Rate and Res(onance) controls. The blue LED tells you when it's activated, and the first-rate on/off switch maintains incredible signal integrity in bypass mode. You can power the UF300 flange-of-all-trades with a 9V battery or the PSU-SB DC Power Supply (not included).

Vibrato effect pedal for guitar
Review: Kicking the Ultra Vibrato UV300 into action is like putting an invisible, automatic whammy bar on your guitar. From the gentle, pulsing rhythms of the ocean surf, to the wild, whirling effects of a rotating speaker system, the UV300 will bring a dose of days-gone-by to your sound.

Select from Unlatch, Bypass or Latch modes and twist the dedicated Rise, Rate and Depth dials to create your ideal vibrato. In Latch mode, the effect is constantly on once you step on it. Unlatch mode only applies the effect while you press down on the pedal, so you can add vibrato to a single note if you like. Your guitar will be playing mind-games with everyone in earshot as familiar, but hardly ordinary, tones of the 1960s and '70s ooze out of your amp.

The blue LED tells you when the pedal is activated, and the first-class on/off switch maintains peerless signal integrity in bypass mode. The UV300 can be powered with either a 9 V battery or the Behringer PSU-SB DC power supply (not included).

Distortion effect pedal which adapts and reacts to the dynamics of its input signal
Review: Powered by Multi-Dimensional Processing technology (MDP), the DA2 Adaptive Distortion delivers ideal distortion tones wherever you play on the guitar neck.

Roland's innovative MDP technology analyzes audio signals in many dimensions and applies ideal effects to each. By giving different dynamic changes relative to the input signal in real time, MDP can create bold, all-new sounds with a previously unattainable range of expression.

Unlike standard distortion pedals that process the entire guitar signal with one effect, the DA2's Multi-Dimensional Processing employs multiple distortion processors to seamlessly adapt the sound in real time and create the ideal tone for every register. As a result, the pedal delivers a rich, musical distortion that plays well all over the neck, from tight, edgy low-string tones to fat, smooth highs for lead playing. With the power of MDP, the DA2's distortion is dramatically responsive to your playing dynamics, and every note is heard with clarity and definition.

Stereo chorus pedal for guitar
Review: With its stereo input and output, the DigiTech HardWire CR-7 is a chorus pedal offering you 7 chorus effects, ranging from Multivoice and Studio to Boutique, Vintage, and more. Precision control knobs include speed, depth, level, and type. True bypass and high-voltage operation are standard features on the DigiTech CR-7 pedal.

The DigiTech HardWire pedals series represents DigiTech's commitment to quality and attention to subtle details. In addition to technical enhancements like true bypass and high voltage operation, all HardWire pedals feature rugged, all-metal construction; a wide, stage-stable footprint; durable, custom-machined metal knobs for a sure grip; and precision potentiometers that guarantee knob positions will stay intact.

The rugged, durable construction of DigiTech Extreme Performance Pedals is just the beginning. Inside each DigiTech HardWire pedal are technological features that serious players requireiall updated and improved to their utmost. True bypass preserves the purity of your original tone as signal passes through the pedal, and high voltage operation further protects your sound by eliminating clipping and other signal degradation caused by power drain.

With the high-output pickups found on some electric guitars, it's not unusual to hear clipping when playing through an effects pedal. This occurs when the voltage range produced by a guitar's pickup is greater than the operating voltage of the effects pedalinormally limited to the voltage supplied by the effect's battery or power supply. HardWire pedals incorporate circuitry that increases the operating voltage headroom above that of the typical pedal. As such, HardWire pedals benefit a wider range of guitars and are also at home in an amplifier's effects loop.

Voltage controlled vactrol state variable filter combined with a 10-step sequencer
Review: The FT201 Analog Filter/10-Step Sequencer is Koma's innovative voltage controlled vactrol state variable filter combined with a 10 step sequencer.

The FT201 is capable of providing ultra low and high frequency filter effects which are controllable with the on board infrared expression controller, which allows the user to create filter sweeps by moving their feet or hands over the pedal. The FT201 has 3 different filter outputs: band pass, low pass and high pass, which all work simultaneously. The cutoff frequency range is very large, between 20Hz and 20 kHz and because of the vactrols used the sound quality is superb. The 10 Step Sequencer runs through the selected amount of steps (2 - 10 steps) and adds the control voltage to the value set by the cutoff knob, thus modulating the cutoff frequency in every step.

A handheld dual infrared X-Y motion controller
Review: Want to create the perfect filter sweep, manually trigger a gate or step through a sequencer? No more need to turn knobs or to patch up a lot of modules, the Kommander makes it simple: just plug it into a CV input on your (modular) synthesizer, move your hand over the device and you are able to control it with your hands, feet or nose, yes: just like a theremin: Kommand and Konquer!

The Kommander is a handheld dual infrared X-Y motion controller that makes controlling your electronic instruments intuitive and fun. The device measures the distance to your hand or any other surface and sends out corresponding CV signals between 0 and 8V. The closer you have your hand to the Kommander, the higher the output voltage. This will allow you to create complex synth sounds, trigger a drum machine, control your Koma effect pedals or any other instrument that is capable of receiving CV signals.

Koma know that some equipment can only accept CV signals up to 3V or 5V, that's why they fitted the Kommander with attenuators, which are accessible in the back of the unit. The attenuators connected to the CV outputs allow you to attenuate the maximum voltage output, so you can e.g. set the range from 0V to 5V instead of 0V to 8V.

Because of the innovative circuit design there is no interference from sunlight or stage light, so the musician can use it wherever she or he wants. Just plug the Kommander into your Eurorack Modular System, Buchla, Moog, Roland or any other synthesizer and create.

Control processor for use with Minimoog Voyager or any similar voltage-conrolled equipment
Review: The CP251 Control Processor can be used in connection with one or more Moogerfooger analog effects modules, the Minimoog Voyager, or other voltage-controlled gear, adding the same kind of power and versatility of the classic Moog modular synthesizers.

There are two kinds of signals in a modular analog synthesizer: audio and control. As audio signals go through a system of synthesizer modules, they get shaped into the sounds that you hear. Control signals, on the other hand, correspond to the variations in the sound that are imparted by the synthesizer modules, like invisible hands that turn the knobs of the modules.

The CP251 provides a dual waveform LFO, Noise Generator, Sample-and-Hold circuit, as well as two attenuators, a lag processor, a CV mixer and a 4-way mult. This gives you ways to modify, mix, and distribute control voltages to produce the incredible variety of sounds and effects that analog synthesizers are famous for.

Limited edition, updated reissue of the classic Bob Moog design
Review: Originally designed by Bob Moog and released in 2000, the Classic MF-104 Analog Delay was manufactured as a limited edition release of 1000 units. A special Bucket Brigade delay chip was employed allowing the effect to remain completely analog. Unfortunately, the supply of these chips was limited and the final MF-104 sold in 2001. Since then there have been two reissues of the Classic MF-104, the MF-104Z and the MF-104SD. In that time, each has been added to a short list of the most sought after analog delays in history.
