Studio headphones with in-line mic & controller
Review:
The TMA-1 Studio headphones are AIAIAI's latest professional cans especially designed for the studio. The Copenhagen-based design collective had lengthy sessions in mind when they consulted with musicians, producers and engineers. They were looking to create a more referenced sound and enhanced comfort with the response and durability of the TMA-1, with an adjusted EQ curve to adapt the original's for use in the studio. They chose an over-the-ear design that increases comfort, especially appreciated when used for long periods of time.
The newly introduced TMA-1 Studio's feature several differences which help them excel in the world of production. The Studios shun portability for comfort, appearing significantly bulkier than the vanilla TMA-1's. Featuring circumaural ears pads that fit around the ear and extra headband padding, the Studio's are comfortable even when worn for long periods of time - perfect for that all day studio session. Under the hood AIAIAI have also tweaked the drivers themselves, giving the Studios a flatter, producer-friendly frequency response - and making them more delicately balanced then the slightly bass heavy TMA-1's. The result is one of the clearest, most comfortable listening experiences available, with the protein based circumaural cups preserving rich highs, mids and lows whilst blocking all unwanted noise. Although not the most detailed cans at their price range, the overall package of sound, style and build quality make the Studio's hard to beat. http://vimeo.com/43449526

Review:
The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Headphones 80 Ohm are closed back dynamic headphones that use the same comfortable, sound isolating design as the 250 Ohm studio version, but with a lower resistance for general purpose and mobile applications. Because of the lower resistance, the DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm headphones are louder and work on low power devices such as smart phones, MP3 player, laptops and bus powered interfaces. Therefore, if you are working in a loud environment or using a battery operated device, the Beyerdynamic DT 770Pro 80 Ohm headphones make the perfect choice of headphone.
When out and about, you really need to block as much ambient noise out as possible and a lot of headphones do this by clamping the ear-pads as tightly to your ears as possible and using materials that absorb a lot of sound. This produces two unwanted issues; discomfort, after prolonged use; and a loss of audio quality as sound being generated by the driver is absorbed by the cup. The DT 700 Pro series avoids this by using a clever bass reflex system and a large circumaural cup design with velour pads. Of course the real technology is in the transducer itself, which produces a nominal frequency response of 5Hz to 35kHz and a nominal SPL of 96dB, an exceptional performance.

Review:
The DT 770 Pro is a closed dynamic headphone and has been designed for critical music and sound monitoring. The single sided cable makes the handling of the headphone easy. The cushion system allows the DT 770 Pro to be used comfortably for long periods of time.
The circumaural design with velour cushions and adjustable headband makes the DT 770 headphones really comfortable, even over prolonged periods. The DT 770 250Ohm version is designed for the studio, delivering a higher impedance and a slightly more accurate response than the 80Ohm versions. The higher impedance also means you can safely use multiple headsets from the same source. The 2 most common complaints when mixing using closed back headphones are that they are uncomfortable and don't produce enough bass, leaving mixes overly compensated (see the FAQ further down for the reasons why). The answer to first problem is to buy open back headphones, but they are no good for recording purposes and may not solve the second issue of bass response. Fortunately, the DT 770 Pro tackle both these problems, delivering an impressive nominal frequency response of 5Hz-35kHz using their innovative bass reflex system with a very large cup and velour cushions that let air through but not sound, thus reducing pressure. The 50 mm heavy duty driver produces an imposing sound intensity, with tight and powerful bass plus precise and detailed instrument placement. Combined with all of the useful accessories included in the PRO hardcase, the closed PRO 550 finds its fans within bass players and drummers. Due to requests we implemented an additional function which enables you to fold these headphones easily. The with ULE-technology (Ultra Low Emission) and PRO appearance does not only distinguish the professional line but also allows, due to more ear anatomy area, a higher degree of transparency in combination with the spatial sense and understanding. To understand what ULE-technology does, you need to know that most headphone drivers produce low-frequency magnetic fields as they convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal you hear as music. In response, Ultrasone developed a special MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) to reduce the radiation by up to 98 compared to current headphones.
The ULE-technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organizations. Ultrasone originally developed the ULE-technology for professionals as they do spend half of their lives in headphones. But due to grand requests the ULE-technology has now been integrated in other Ultrasone headphone lines. These headphones also feature S-Logic natural surround sound. Through S-Logic natural surround, the sound moves out of your head and into the room around you. Consequently, the music is no longer confined, but breathing once again, spacious and organic, direction and distance are more easily perceived. It's like being at a live concert. No additional equipment is necessary. So with just a pair of Ultrasones and your favorite audio device, prepare yourself for genuine 3-dimensional enjoyment. Also good for safer hearing, the S-Logic does not only create a natural surround sound, it allows at the same time a reduction of sound pressure levels by up to 40 (3-4 dB) for the same loudness sensation. This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening. However, Ultrasone generally advises not to listen to music at high volumes to prevent hearing damage. Paying particular attention to the configuration of the drive unit and housing, as well as the earpad assembly, Yamaha designed the HPH-200 to deliver highly detailed instrumental music with precisely faithful sound reproduction.
The HPH-200 is an open air type with a metallic grill for the housing, providing optimum monitor performance with an appropriate amount of sound dispersion so that listening fatigue will not be a problem even after long hours of use. In addition, because they are non airtight so surrounding sounds are audible, these headphones are ideal for use when playing with another instrument or even in group sessions. The large 40mm driver uses a powerful magnet. It delivers wide dynamic range and deep bass, so both vocals and musical instruments are reproduced with an energetic and lively sound. The soft velour like earpad provides an extremely comfortable fit. Additionally, because the earpad affects sound quality, its material and shape have been carefully chosen to match the headphone unit, ensuring both maximum comfort and optimum sound quality. The adjustable earpieces not only perfectly match the shape of your head, they swivel to a flat position for easy storage and carrying. The size of the headband can also be adjusted, ensuring a comfortable fit. The cord is a convenient length for plugging into portable music players and electronic instruments. It doesn't hold its shape, so won't get tangled and uncoils smoothly. Both the plug and accessory plug are gold plated for maximum sound quality.
