11 Mar 13 Pair of speakers & amplifier + pair of monitor stands
Review:
This great value bundle mixes up the unique sE Electronics Egg monitors with their specially designed Zaor stands. The Zaor stands make them sturdy and wood has virtually no self-resonance so they won't add any annoying vibration.
The sE Munro Egg 150 Monitoring System is the first in a series of sE Munro Active Integrated Monitoring Systems, designed by Andy Munro, James Ishmaev-Young and Siwei Zou. The sE Munro Egg studio monitors have brought about a fundamental rethink of the loudspeaker engineering process. The traditional wooden box has been replaced by a curved enclosure that has been scientifically proven to virtually eliminate diffraction and resonant effects that distort and smear the original sound of your audio. The result is a stunning clarity that brings the smallest details into focus and yet delivers the entire mix as a coherent whole. Controlling the sE Munro Egg 150 Monitoring System: The system is complete, with a free standing control unit that delivers a perfect bi-amplified power match to the egg drive units, source select inputs, active analogue crossovers, LF and HF trim pot equalisation for room and location set-up compensation and a mid-band control to emulate the mid-range response of both Hi-Fi and NS10 type speakers. Above all, the sE Munro Egg 150 Monitors are designed to deliver the highest quality sound with the absolute minimum of coloration. The Egg 150 monitors feature breath-taking transparency that, within seconds of listening, reveals a much more defined and open mix in which the whole balance simply feels more complete. Certain aspects of some recordings may be shown up to be distorted or not as the engineer intended, but that is the truth, unobscured by colouration. A monitor that flatters to deceive has no place in a professional recording studio and there is no argument for using poor quality speakers to match inferior playback media. Well recorded audio, translates to any medium, but the opposite is absolutely not true, if your monitors put a fake 'sheen' on everything, how will you ever know what your material sounds like on an honest system? By using high quality linear power supplies, the sE Egg system maintains maximum transient power up to double the rated value. Bi-amplification further enhances the power headroom and results in the lowest possible distortion values. By using 35V power rails the Egg is capable of high transient sound levels from a relatively modest amplifier compliment. The sE Munro Egg 150 is the final product name of the sE Munro Medium Egg Speaker, announced at Musikmesse and NAMM. The 150 refers to the approximate size of the driver. As more Egg Monitoring Systems are in development, it seemed foolish to term the first sE Munro speaker system as medium when it may not be in the fullness of time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kYXqjd9Jc3U Zaor monitor stands feature a sturdy, height-adjustable design and are an ideal solution for supporting your precious monitors in the studio. Their solid wooden design makes Zaor monitor stands far more stable than cheaper height-adjustable speaker stands. The fact that they are constructed from wood also means that they have practically no self resonance, so you won't hear any annoying vibrations whilst trying to balance your mix. Studio monitors

The trend towards choosing powered speakers for production monitoring is based on some very sound logic. By integrating and matching the power amplifiers and speakers, the relationship between them can be kept under perfect control for superior performance in the widest possible range of systems. Naturally the power amplifiers themselves are of the finest quality and, unlike component power amplifiers that must be designed for acceptable matching with the widest possible range of speakers, are designed and manufactured specifically to drive the system's woofer and tweeter in their specific enclosure.
With the MSP7 everything you need is built in - all you have to do is supply the line level input. The 6.5 inch cone woofer is driven by an 80watt power amplifier, while the 1 inch dome tweeter has its own 50watt power amplifier. In the MSP7 this particular power and driver combination results in the perfect balance between the low, mid and high frequency ranges. The MSP7 woofer and tweeter units feature some important design innovations that contribute directly to improved sound quality. The 6.5 inch woofer, for example, features a specially treated polypropylene cone with lowdamping rubber surrounds for exceptionally smooth response. Low reflection and high rigidity die-cast magnesium baskets both maximize mechanical precision while minimizing unwanted coloration of the speaker's output. The 1 inch tweeters feature titanium domes that offer the perfect combination of light weight and rigidity for precise reproduction right up to 40 kHz. This obstacle of magnetic interference is effectively overcome in the MSP7 with a new "advanced magnetic structure" that achieves effective shielding while maintaining the integrity of the speaker's magnetic circuit for significantly lower distortion and improved definition . The thick walled MSP7 cabinet is moulded in one piece, resulting in smooth acoustic transfer throughout the entire enclosure for superior reproduction precision. One piece moulding also makes it possible to produce the large radius rounded baffle corners that help to maintain a natural wavefront and minimize diffraction for a smoother, more uniform polar response. The MSP7 STUDIO features a balanced XLR-type connector for input. Providing direct compatibility with professional gear and allows the use of balanced lines for maximum audio quality even where long cable runs are required. Rear-panel controls include a continuous input sensitivity control, and trim switches that enable you to adjust the bass and treble in four and three positions, respectively (+1.5dB / 0dB / -1.5dB/ -3dB at 50Hz and +1.5dB / 0dB / -1.5dB at 10KHz), so that the system's response to be quickly matched to the room. There's also a low cut switch that is useful when used with the SW10 subwoofer. The AC power cord is removable for easy transportation and setup. Some speakers are designed to look good. The MSP7 has been designed throughout for superior sound, and looks great as a result!

The predecessor to the A7X, the A7, became the most famous of all ADAM monitors in a very short time. Not only has it been reviewed over 3 dozen times with outstanding results, it has also received numerous awards. The A7 quickly gained mass appeal, praised in many of the world's largest internet forums. Still today, the A7 are the reference monitors in many smaller studios.
With the A7X, ADAM Audio proudly presents the evolution of a legend. It takes everything that made the A7 such an outstanding speaker to a new level. The first aspect that distinguishes the old from the new model is the X-ART tweeter. The X stands for extended frequency response and thus for one of the features of the Accelerating Ribbon Technology that has been drastically improved: the frequency response. It now extends all the way up to 50kHz. In addition, the X-ART tweeter has a higher efficiency and higher maximum sound pressure levels. The perfect integration with the lower frequencies has been achieved with a newly designed 7" midwoofer. It has been redesigned with a much bigger voice coil (1.5") and is driven by an amplifier with twice the power compared to its predecessor. This combination produces an amazing sound and pressure levels with an almost distortion-free musical reproduction. Each driver has its own dedicated amplifier. A 50W A/B amp is responsible for the X-ART tweeter, while the midwoofer is being driven by a 100W PWM amp. The front panel includes a power switch and a control for the volume that retains the volume setting independently from the on/off switch. On the rear panel are several additional controls: a tweeter gain control, (+/- 4dB) and 2 shelving filters for high and low frequencies. To ensure greater compatibility, there are both XLR (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced) connectors.

The small Adam A5 monitor managed to make itself a big name in both professional environments as well as in computer or desktop applications. A wealth of truly outstanding reviews and many awards helped to establish this speaker as one of the best small monitors and a great choice for the small studio. The similar dimensions and name could make one believe that the Adam A5X monitor is nothing more than a new version of the A5. A quick listening however leaves no doubt that the A5X is much more than that.
The Adam A5X monitor features the proprietary X-ART tweeter. The very data of this technology shows that it is at the forefront of what tweeters can accomplish. Numerous listening tests have confirmed this. A 5.5" Midwoofer reproduces the frequencies below 2.5 kHz. The diaphragm is made from carbon fiber/rohacell/glass fiber. This composite material with minimum weight and maximum rigidity prevents break up resonances, resulting in an outstanding dynamic behaviour and impeccable sound characteristics. A very handy and exclusive feature found in the 2 smaller A5X monitors is the Stereolink. This is accomplished by a pair of additional RCA connections that allow for a bypass of the second stereo channel to the other speaker. This new technology connects 2 A5X speakers in such a manner as to allow the user the option to control the overall stereo volume of the system from either speakers gain control. This makes the A5X a natural for mixer-less desktop applications where overall system volume needs to be adjusted easily. The front of the A5X monitor sports dual ports for surprisingly low frequency response down to 50Hz. The front panel also has power and gain controls. The rear panel includes a tweeter gain control as well as balanced (XLR) jacks and unbalanced (RCA) jacks, allowing for greater connection flexibility. There are also 2 M6 (6mm) metric screw threads for stand/wall mounting. Pair of professional audio monitors

Equipped with a 200mm low frequency unit and remaining natural and transparent right across the audio spectrum even at high sound pressure levels, the Fostex PM-2 monitors are great for today's bass heavy music.
The exceptional audio performances of Fostex PM-1 MKII monitors are matched to jaw-dropping good looks. Fostex strive to design and build studio monitoring systems which enable you to experience your unique sound in all its dimensions. Through tireless research and development, endless measurements and real-world listening tests, Fostex's engineers have achieved this in the form of the beautiful second generation PM-series monitors. Capitalizing on Fostex's supreme knowledge of acoustics and speaker engineering, now offering a brighter and tighter sound, these PM-2 studio monitors are designed inside out to provide the best monitoring experience with minimal resonance, sparkling highs and rich, deep lows. With new high-gloss front baffles, they also look as stunning as they sound. The LF drivers of PM-2 MkII monitors have been developed to obtain extremely pure music reproduction by employing the latest technology in cone material. The cone uses a mixture of cut and milled fibers that are made from aromatic polyamide. It is then impregnated with resins to simultaneously achieve high rigidity and optimum damping. The cone also has an olefin film thermally adhered to its surface to control frequency response and to establish long term reliability. The center dust cap is made of non-wood cellulose material and is also impregnated with resin. The voice coil is made of super high purity copper wire to achieve extremely low distortion. The 20mm soft dome tweeter employs Fostex's UFLC technology (poly urethane film laminated cloth) to achieve light weight and high stability performance. The amplifiers are precisely calibrated to match the performance capability of the drivers. 20W stereo rack monitor, ideal solution for monitoring in space-challenged environments

This glossy white edition of the ADAM A5 is exclusively available at Juno.
The ADAM A5 is the smaller brother of the A7, probably the best known of all the ADAM monitors. The A5 uses the same ADAM proprietary transducer technology (ART) and the same woofer consisting of a sandwich construction of carbon fiber and Rohacellr, only reduced in size to 5 .5 inch. The outstanding sound quality in combination with the small size, the glossy white finish and the Stereolinkr make the A5 a truly unique loudspeaker with an almost unlimited range of applications. Amplifiers and controls: Two built-in 25 Watt amplifiers power the drivers directly. The front of the A5 sports dual ports for surprising low frequency response down to 55Hz, metal grills for durability, as well as power and gain controls. The rear panel includes balanced (XLR) jacks, unbalanced (RCA) jacks, and a host of EQ controls to tailor the sound to suit room acoustics or personal taste. Stereolink: The A5 employs a new development by ADAM called Stereolink. This new technology connects two A5 speakers in such a manner as to allow the user the option to control the overall stereo volume of the system from either speakers gain control. This makes the A5 a natural for "mixer-less" desktop applications where overall system volume needs to be adjusted often and from a single control. Single nearfield/midfield monitor

Reloop are proud to present the Wave Monitoring Station, a practical monitoring powerhouse for every DJ and producer's setup.
The active reference monitor speakers are in a class of their own due to their precise playback and powerful rich output. The innovative design makes them ideal for DJs monitoring live in the mix, and thanks to the linear frequency-response curve, producers will also appreciate the Reloop Waves series as reference monitor speakers for studio applications. With a total of three different inputs (XLR, 6.3mm jack, and RCA) the flexibility on offer is unparalleled as different sources can be directly connected and monitored, eradicating annoying re-wiring or searching for switches in your cable set up. But what really defines these speakers as the ultimate monitoring station is the External Wave Controller. By accessing this solid control unit, it's simple to command both speakers from the comfort of your desktop (connected via a link cable). With the extra large aluminum knob, the volume can be adjusted effortlessly, and via the Input Selector it's possible to quickly toggle between the 3 different inputs options (each clearly indicated by a glistening white LED on the front). A further switch can be used to set the station on stand-by, and with a push of a button, the output can be muted (LEDs will be dimmed depending on the status selected). Thanks to the variable EQ and frequency band adjustments, the Wave series can be instantly adapted to almost any room or situation without the need for a sub mixer. The smart tweeter construction has an especially wide audio beam in order to deliver outstanding sound to the listener from various positions, and strong magnetic drivers create the powerful rich sound demanded by the discerning DJs and producers of today. It's important to stress that while the speakers were in development, Reloop strived for the highest quality components, fine-tuning, and sophisticated design. The result clearly speaks for itself. Aesthetics, versatility and performance are all masterfully combined in this exciting new desktop monitoring station. Welcome to Reloop Wave. Pair of powered reference monitors

The MSP5 features a bi-amplified bass reflex system that delivers outstanding monitoring precision for digital or analog production in stereo or surround formats. The more compact dimensions of the MSP5 make it an ideal choice for smaller project studios and DAW based production systems. MSP5 features a 5 inch cone woofer driven by a 40 watt amplifier and a 1 inch dome tweeter driven by a 27 watt amplifier. Other than woofer size, enclosure size, and amplifier power, this monitor takes advantage of the same advanced materials and design technology that are behind the extraordinary performance of the larger MSP7. The woofer and titanium dome tweeter feature advanced magnetic structures that achieve exceptionally low distortion, and the tweeter works with a unique waveguide horn that achieves broad, uniform high frequency dispersion over 120 degrees for optimum balance regardless of listening position.
Advanced driver and enclosure design including the low diffraction rounded baffle, ensure smooth, uniform dispersion across the system's full reproduction range. Flat frequency response up to 40 kHz makes the MSP5 great for mastering, where high sample and bit rates are the norm. Along with their compact size and excellent performance, full magnetic shielding allows the MSP5 monitors to be positioned near all types of audio, video, and computer equipment without sound degradation or negative effects on surrounding equipment. The MSP5 has a balanced XLR type input for direct compatibility with professional equipment. Balanced lines are ideal if the speakers are to be placed at the end of long cable runs which, if unbalanced, might be susceptible to hum and induced noise. The MSP5 also offers an unbalanced 1/4" phone jack connector. These fantastic compact monitors are also equipped with four position low and three position high trim switches that allow the system's response to be optimised for a wide range of acoustic environments. Review:
The 6.5" cone woofer is driven by an 80watt power amplifier, while the 1" dome tweeter has its own 50watt power amplifier. In the MSP7 this particular power and driver combination results in the perfect balance between the low, mid and high frequency ranges. The MSP7 woofer and tweeter units feature some important design innovations that contribute directly to improved sound quality. The 6.5" woofer, for example, features a specially treated polypropylene cone with lowdamping rubber surrounds for exceptionally smooth response. Low reflection and high rigidity die-cast magnesium baskets both maximize mechanical precision while minimizing unwanted coloration of the speaker's output. The 1" tweeter features a titanium dome that offer the perfect combination of light weight and rigidity for precise reproduction right up to 40 kHz. Rokit powered series active 3-way mid-field monitor

With the A7X monitor, Adam Audio proudly presents the evolution of a legend. The first aspect that distinguishes the old from the new model is the X-ART tweeter. The X stands for eXtended frequency response and thus for one of the features of the accelerating ribbon technology that has been drastically improved: the frequency response. It now extends all the way up to 50 kHz.
On the rear panel are several additional controls: a gain for the high frequencies (-/+ 4 dB) and 2 shelf filters for high and low frequencies. To ensure greater compatibility, there are both XLR (balanced) and RCA (unbalanced) connectors.

Review:
Blue Sky are now a familiar name in the monitoring world, and many of the company's visually distinctive products manage to straddle the home studio and home theatre markets. Their new Exo 2.1 stereo monitoring system uses 2 relatively small satellite speakers and a floor-standing subwoofer to provide full-range coverage, with a desktop remote-control hub providing a means to control the level of the bass and the overall volume. This hub also functions as an input-source connection point, as it includes an iPod input and 3.5mm headphone jack on the front, as well as both XLR/jack combi and phono connectors on the rear. When the headphone jack is used, the speakers are automatically muted.
The Exo 2-way satellite speakers are based around a 3" neodymium concave driver, augmented by a 1" soft-dome neodymium tweeter that sits behind 3 protective bars. The crossover within the satellite is passive and each speaker is powered by its own 35W amplifier, which is housed in the sub so that all the amp and PSU circuitry is situated in one place. Speaker connections are made between the satellites and sub using conventional binding posts, and suitable cables are included with the system. The satellite enclosures are built from three-quarter-inch MDF and feature a textured, black-finish front baffle. They measure just 203mm x 127mm x 127mm and weigh a modest 1.36kg each. Magnetic shielding allows operation close to old-style CRT monitors, and there are inserts to accept an optional omni-mount mounting bracket. The sealed-box-design subwoofer uses an 8" speaker with a cast-aluminum frame and a 1.5" voice coil. This is mounted in a forward-firing position behind a cloth grille, driven in mono by its dedicated 90W amplifier. The specified frequency response of the sub is 35Hz to 140Hz, 6 dB although the tests were done in anechoic conditions, which extends the response in a typical room down closer to 20Hz. Despite this, the sub is fairly dainty, measuring 330mm x 350mm x 330mm and weighing in at 11.4kg. As with the satellite speakers, the predominant material used in construction is MDF. Four removable spiked feet anchor the box to the floor. The whole system is controlled from the hub, which links to the sub via a captive mini-DIN cable. Here you'll find the physical connections for the input formats described earlier, as well as the phones output. All the inputs are always active and are effectively mixed, which means you can monitor up to 3 simultaneous sources if you wish. Usefully, the subwoofer level can be independently adjusted from the hub rather than on the sub itself. This arrangement works well, though it would have been more sensible to make the sub adjustment a screwdriver preset (or to feature some other protective mechanism), to prevent it from getting moved accidentally.
