Review: Once the torchbearer for minimal house, it seems like Mathias Kaden has since softened his sound - something that's audible on Tentakle. "Pitched" is a dense, rolling groove populated by insistent vocal loops, while "Troija" is more nuanced. Over hyperactive drums, Kaden weaves a web of jazzy textures and melodic flourishes, as complex as a maze. "Demence" meanwhile sees him return to more grounded territory, with a niggling acid line and a vocal sample intoning 'the music' set to a rolling groove. Finally, Kaden completes his reinvention with "Propeller"; centred on a relentless filter, its high-paced, slamming groove is more effective than a warehouse full of hiccupping grooves.

Review: The Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team - better known as label operators Orgasmic and Teki Latex - return with more of their uniquely French take on bass music with a double header of electro infused heaters. "Activate" combines motivational rap vocals with stripped back 808s, an infectiously wonky sense of melody and a tweaked out synth line, while "I Be" is more explicit in is homage to dirty south rap, as DX7 bass and chopped and screwed vocals combine with triumphant synth horns in a gloriously retro pastiche. As if that wasn't enough, instrumentals and accapella versions are provided for those who wish to get creative with their mixing.
