Review:
Shogun Audio's Alix Perez is one of the scene's most interesting producers, providing a genuine buzz for each new track he puts out there. Featuring storming remixes from artists across the full spectrum of dance music, the hip hop inspired beats of "Annie's Song" is first given the jungle treatment from Hospital Records don S.P.Y before Shadow Child rips up the stylesheet and presses on with a full-on garage bouncer. Maddslinky, Zed Bias' UK funky alter-ego chops up the original to hit the dancefloor with a blast from the past and finally "We Could Have Been" rounds up the release with a trip down more familiar rolling Alix Perez territory. So many styles, so many talents, it's a must have yet again from one of D&B's big guns.

Review:
Having been on somewhat of hiatus of late, Alix Perez pokes his head above the water with this ever so slightly unexpected release on Horizons. Most closely affiliated with the deeper side of D+B and the Shogun Audio camp to whom he is signed, Perez comes up with some rose-tinted dubbed out, jungle flavours here in the appropriately entitled "Dubrock". Fun, funky rhythms dance around one another with chirpy lyrics and pattering drums with warm, undulating basslines below. For the second track on this single Perez teams up with Specific for "Lovebug" - another equally as charming vocal-driven track with punchy breaks, lilting atmospherics and mellifluous SFX. Dreamy and delicious, get your teeth into this one.

BENNY PAGE feat SOLO BANTON

Review:
Mixing upfront jump up with jungle has made the Jungle Assassins series of releases a total necessity for all fans of either genre. Vol 4 is no exception, starting off with Levela's hard-hitting remix of "Dangerous" featuring the unmistakeable vocals of Solo Banton. Bouncing hard but still keeping track of Benny Page's floorfilling original, it's a tune to suit every party. "Rumple Stinkslit" is another Benny Page jump up masterpiece, plus, who doesn't love a good anagram? Big, brash and ready to tear up your dancefloor, like Red Bull-fuelled raving in a china shop, don't expect to stop until everything's destroyed.

Review:
Straight from the tropical climes of Benny Page's studio and featuring the unmistakeable vocals of TopCat, you'd never guess Benny was a Reading boy through and through listening to "Sound Fi Dead". This badboy rhythm has been given four makeovers that couldn't be any different. Cabbie's take is strictly jungle, taking little bits here and there from the old school and adding the nastiest bass and the hottest brass, while DJ Oder laughs in the face of tradition and smashes everything up good and proper with drops all over the place; with bass enough to wake the dead, it's set to light up dancefloors everywhere. Ricky Tuff adds some classic soundsystem vibes to create his own little taste of dub heaven, and Aries & Tuffist lay down a seriously devastating jungle bassline to round it all off. Mooooooove!
913MB of loops & sounds including fat breaks, heavyweight bass and inspiring music loops together with an impressive collection of upfront one shots and multi samples

Review:
Over the last decade Benny Page has proved himself a survivor in the rapidly changing UK bass culture, playing and producing with the biggest and the best in variety of fields from jungle to UK funky and bassline. Here however, he sticks to his original guns, with "Dangerous" being a total jungle banger complete with dirty basslines and rough ragga MCing from Solo Banton. Up next, "Perdominant" sees Page hook up with the spectacularly named Psycho Freud to combine ska influences with a pounding, peak time D&B production.

Review:
Always one for a fun tune and catchy riff, Benny Page returns with another fine, fine riddim on the Cutterz Choice imprint as he teams up with Rhythm Beater for "That Girl" which heads up the single. Full of pattering jungle-laced drums, rumbling bass, chirruping SFX and reggae beats in abundance, "That Girl" is a lilting piece of sunshine filled loveliness. Get involved! Next up, Rhythm Beater goes solo for "What Goes Around" for another lush cut with chiming beats, murmuring vocal and gentle breaks which soothes the soul.

Review:
One of the key components in the "drumstep" revolution that's sweeping the airwaves between D&B and dubstep at the moment, Kenny Ken's son Crissy Criss goes in on the Bill Posters' original "Hold On" with all the reckless abandon the 1Xtra DJ regularly displays in his expansive, pedal-to-the-metal mixes. Cavorting breaks are coupled with rave-addled synth chords and whinnying vocals here; not so much falling into the drop as storming into it, with a frenzy of drum rolls, bass wobbles and synth jitters, it's turbo-charged right from the start and doesn't let up until the end. It's got "party" stamped all over it.
