Review:
Sinister Souls don't mess around. Coming at'cha like a tonne of bricks this album starts as it means to continue and doesn't let up for the duration. The heavy and relentless pelt of the title track "Beat The Drum Hard" is full of pounding drums and mid-range distortions for maximum effect. Huge builds, distorted synth work and extreme sounds with a skullstep meets dubstep aesthetic are order of the day here. Each track comes with its own set of warnings but watch out for "Natural Selection", "We Are Killers" and closing cut "Perfect Organism" for the full Sinister Souls experience.

Review:
Destination "Afrika" via LA... Here we find Sub Slayer Skanx delving deep into jungle heritage with a muddy roller that packs the same foggy, radar-ridden breakbeat punch as the Meat Beat Manifesto's "Radio Babylon". For a more contemporary dub twist head for 6BLOCC's remix; stripping things back to a nagging 4/4 sub thump, it's the perfect blend of trad dub and stark future-minded bass music. Elsewhere we don the white gloves for the rave-tastic "Boom" while Eek-A-Mouse goes under the sample scalpel on the swashbuckling "Dub War". The junglist massive are on fine form right here.

Review:
Absolutely massive remix package here courtesy of Dreadsquad, with MT-41 Riddim Remixed arriving on Polish imprint Superfly Studio. Killer refixes of Skarra Mucci, El Fata, Doubla J and Dr Ring Ding come from a stellar cast including Ricky Tuff, Jinx, Cut La Vis, Dialect & Kosine and more. It's hard to pick a favourite here, but we'll plump for the super tight jungle-leaning Jinx version of "Sweet & Nice" by El Fata!
