Review:
Stealth likes his bass large and that's what you're going to get in his eagerly awaited EP on Subtitles. Ramping things up from the off with a serious minimal meltdown, "Dire Staights" featuring Stylus has all the acrid bass and raw, beaten-to-an-inch-of-their-life drums you could ever wish for. Continuing this pattern, "Deep Inside" and "Silent Dream" drill further down into skull-pulverising bass pressure and classy break-ridden rhythms despite being from opposite ends of the drum and bass spectrum. As a mature producer you can't say fairer than this: Dire Straights is an accomplished, balls-out smasher of an EP created by a man who truly knows his craft. Don't sleep on this, it means serious business.

Review:
As a loyal member of the Playaz crew, drum & bass warrior Sub Zero needs no introduction. His remix EP on the other hand, offers a fresh look at some of his past dancefloor smashers as seen through the eyes of an interesting and extremely talented group of individuals. From jump-up veteran Majistrate's wild-eyes stomp through "Your Flex" to Ingredients Records original Krakota's soulful and sublime take on "Brighter Days", it's a journey through some of Sub Zero's best-loved tracks, and an incredible look at some of the genre's finest producers of the moment too.

Review:
LuvDisaster star Subsid aka Bruno Henrique Rezende de Souza makes his Soul Deep Recordings debut with a typical soulful swagger. Blending soul, jazz and breakbeat, Subsid's liquid funk comes from a warm, intelligent place. With a keen ear for technique and a real flair for the top end, it sounds crazy, but Subsid's cymbal programming is a thing of beauty. Technological geekery aside, this double-tracker is a perfect precursor to a night on the town - rolling bass, flowing movement and laid-back yet uptempo beats, "I Gave You Everything" has it all. "I'd Do" has more of a Brazilian-style lounge jazz influence; chilled but on the mark. Sharp and smooth in equal measures, it's the real deal.
