Review:
Shogun Audio's Alix Perez is one of the scene's most interesting producers, providing a genuine buzz for each new track he puts out there. Featuring storming remixes from artists across the full spectrum of dance music, the hip hop inspired beats of "Annie's Song" is first given the jungle treatment from Hospital Records don S.P.Y before Shadow Child rips up the stylesheet and presses on with a full-on garage bouncer. Maddslinky, Zed Bias' UK funky alter-ego chops up the original to hit the dancefloor with a blast from the past and finally "We Could Have Been" rounds up the release with a trip down more familiar rolling Alix Perez territory. So many styles, so many talents, it's a must have yet again from one of D&B's big guns.

Played by: Divine Elements
Review:
Back in March, Alter Ego dropped the blistering "Dark Matter", a uniquely devastating piece of screwface D&B, and now it finds itself the subject of a similarly furious remix courtesy of Divine Elements. Playing up the subtle sci-fi atmospherics of the original, it works that sawtooth bassline into alternating moments of pneumatic drill-like madness and brief moments of halfstep calm.

Review:
Furious percussion and smooth vocals pinpoints Andrezz's Brazilian roots while showcasing his talent for reaching out beyond his liquid funk dossier. Creating sounds from the full spectrum of commercial D&B, he channels rolling drum and bass gods Lenzman and S.P.Y in "Resistance", Nu:Tone and Logistics in "Senzala", DJ Marky and Doc Scott in "Like The Real Thing" and working alongside DJ Chap for "So Many Days", old school vibes are blended with cracking deep, bassy breakdowns that seriously flip this release into experimental territory. Get one for your crate and one for your morning commute.

Review:
Samurai, the hugely respected drum & bass label that under the watchful eye of DJ Presha brings the world the finest in deep, dark beats from beyond the 170+ realm. This time they've hit up ASC once more for his own mashed up brand of techno-infused drum & bass straight from his own cold, calculating mind. Close, creeping and stunningly hard, although "Polemic" is softened slightly by a swirling sci-fi synth, there's no mistaking its clinical edge. "Oracle" takes off-beats and creates a master work of atmospherics with them. Minimal and clean, it builds to a shuffling crescendo amidst the smallest of pad interference. Unnervingly good.

Review:
Demand Records command the sort of widespread acclaim for each release that larger labels envy. No hype, no empty threats, they are without doubt the scene's go to label for upfront and intelligent drum & bass. It's not surprising then that this blistering release showcases some of the finest new talent in the scene right now while providing some serious attitude. "Armshouse" is a dancefloor driven, down and dirty breakbeat roller; tight, punchy and fierce. Newcomer "War" sends out his battle cry with rapidfire percussion and deep, dark atmospherics. Two standout tracks from one of D&B's top labels.

Review:
Think of DJ Hazard and what do you see in your mind's eye? Put that hectic mayhem and those sweaty dancefloor shenanigans together into a two track release and you've got a good idea as to what BassBrothers are all about. "Royal Rumble" is a knockout blow from the very start, punching well above those jump up expectations and delivering some serious originality and a seriously stinking bassline to boot. "Jamaican Thug" puts dancehall vibes to work, smashing dancefloors and convincing crowds they can all do an adequate dutty wine, where destructively deep bass gives in to a ridiculous build up.

Review:
Bcee, as you may already know, makes lush drum & bass soundscapes intricately woven with soul and dancefloor-savvy breaks. He also runs Spearhead Records as a matter of fact, a label that boasts releases by exciting new artists with solid followings of their own including LSB, Hybrid Minds, Technimatic and Mutated Forms. Bringing his own formula of hard-stepping rhythms, soaring vocals and soulful melodies to the fore this time round, Bcee's passion for creativity breathes life into the genre and these two tracks are perfect examples of how much drum & bass still has to offer to the world of dance music.
