Review:
Known by many in the drum & bass scene as one of the most important seminal albums in the history of modern D&B, This Too Shall Pass was released in 2006 on Bassbin to widespread critical acclaim, followed by a slow-burning reverence from fans new and old over the years. The tracklist is dotted with tunes many bassheads would class as up there with the greatest: from the dubby lilt of "Lead Me On" and the intricate driving Amens and synthy static of "Morning Star" to the washed out swing jazz of "Unireverse" and the beautifully mournful reverb of "Black Sunshine", this is a re-release that's been a long time coming. RIP Bassbin, and thank you Rohan for making masterpieces such as this available to the buying public once more.

Review:
Latest out of the Liquid Brilliants' beat kitchen is the adorably-named Drum Force 1. Born and living in Serbia, he's one of the new set of liquid producers coming straight out of Eastern Europe with their own tales to tell on the progression of Drum & Bass. This EP is filled with bright sparks of on-point liquid that harks back to early Good Looking and Innerground. With highs and lows you'd expect from a liquid funk drum & bass release, what's unique about Drum Force 1's sound is how he uses his samples and instrumentation. Clearly completely smitten with the genre he uses sax and brass to beautiful effect alongside smooth vocals. One to watch.
Dubmatix present 1GB of grimey breaks, nasty basslines, ragga melodies & classic jungle FX

Review:
Flame is another one of those incredibly talented, mellow drum & bass producer souls from St. Petersburg, Russia. Although details of what they put in the water out there are hazy, with the likes of Bulb, Bop and Enei all calling the city their home too, we want in on the action. "Be With You" is a smooth, melancholic roller with all the hallmarks of a clear-cut liquid classic. "Moonlight" is a lightfooted stepper, bringing smooth sax and soulful vocals into warm, rumbling bass. Both tracks are tasty little things, perfect for an original highlight to any liquid set.

Review:
The Midnight Funk Association might have an influx of new members signing up after this EP hits home. Bringing his trademark bouncy basslines to a plethora of fresh, dancefloor-driven beats, the EP kicks off with its title track. Not wasting any time, Detail Records boss Lynx ramps up his sample-digging powers from the start. Following up with "Micro", firmer techy territory is explored, with industrial sounds and an irresistible dancehall beat that pounds like a jack-hammer until a dubby breakdown messes with your head. "Bobby Says" is a vintage horror movie soundtrack updated with jazzy breaks and Bobby Esmond's haunting rhymes tannoyed in from somewhere above the dry ice. Finally, "I Want You To Remember" is a straight-up frightfest, destined to spook late night ravers and scare the crap out of the headphone crew on the nightbus home. Lynx as you know him best, an original soundscaper.
