Review:
Little is known about London based producer Siculus, appearing for the first time here on Dirty Baz's Rhythm Selection, a relatively new label in itself. "Falling Through" is a dark slice of dubstep that combines the atmospherics of Burial with heavier drums and a devastating bass rumble. Vocal flurries delay out into the stereo field, whilst saxophones and bell-like chords filter out into the deep sub frequencies. A step away from the other harder releases on DBRS but no less appealing.

Review:
A production duo who have been firmly on our radar for some time now with hits such as "El Presidente" (2007) and their two part Stand Tall EP (2010), Sigma bring us the Day & Night EP on their own Life Recordings imprint, featuring I Kay, Foxrox and Geetox. The original kicks off with Danny Byrd style piano keys, Radio One-lite repeated vocal and lilting drum pattern which is both soothing and ecstatic - one for the dancefloor. Remixes of "The Jungle" come from Sub Zero, who mashes it up with trademark barking bass and mid-range gurgles in true Playaz style, plus Funtcase who twists it into a menacing dubstep monster.

Review:
The second part of Sigma's "Day & Night" project is now upon us. This time it's all about "Do You Love", which brings in the talents of Angie Brown and T-Phonic, and the accompanying "Loving Me", plus some excellent remixes courtesy of Subscape and Infuze. "Do You Love" blends Sigma's signature bouncy synths, uplifting beats and cooing, sonorous vocals with pumping bass for a tune that has "rinse out" written all over it. "Loving Me" takes that iconic vocal and transforms it into a debauched bass-heavy riddim full of guttural bass, shrill synth whistles and oodles of energy. Subscape does a superb, swaying dubstep version of "Do You Love", whilst Infuze provides a Skrillex style venture for the kids.
