Review:
Originally famed for his mash-ups, Dave Remix gets all sultry and sub-low on this subversive bass-bruiser. With a clever spoken word vocal used as hinge for the half-step/breakbeat rhythm switches, there's not a dull moment as we flip from vibe to vibe. "Exposure", meanwhile, is more your traditional euphoric dubstep with twinkling synths and a dreamy vocal from Gemini Rayne. Particle on dudes!

Review:
It's not all doom and gloom... Unless you're getting down to Ethan Ryan's latest bass bubble up on Allout. Then it is all doom and gloom. And you wouldn't have it any other way. The lead tracks are playfully arranged; both explore the carnal, paranoid two-note riff favoured in horror while using two totally different soundsets. Elsewhere we get tripped out and scared witless by dark swamp jazz ("Kill Bill"), we get prang on strings and delicate keys ("Midnight"), we get warped and bewildered with fractured trap ("Omen") and we end on ghetto bass inspired turbo two-step tirade. Near-faultless bass music.

Review:
Rounding off another strong year for 2nd Drop, this strong pair of remixes come from two producers who also enjoyed plenty of breakthrough success this year. Distal takes on Gerry Read and twists his smudged house into a honed and rapid-fire footwork assault, full of tumbling toms and vocal hooks while the melodic mystery of the original remains. Sully meanwhile steals the show with his reduced garage roller, emphasising the funk and keeping the subby bass swells lean and mean. It's a freaky space his remix inhabits; somewhere near the early days of Horsepower with that addictive whipcrack beat and ambiguous atmosphere.
