Review: For his latest aural assault, Baron Von Alias recruits veteran UK rap crew Foreign Beggars and chanteuse Eliza Lawson. Their contributions are memorable - particularly those of the experienced Foreign Beggars MCs - and really help lift a backing track that noisily flits between old skool junglisms and colon-bursting dubstep wobbliness. Remix wise, Downbit recasts "Overloaded" as an 8-bit meets wobble smasher, while GroBot throws some Joker-ish "purple" melodies into the mix with excellent effect. There's also a soaring, off-kilter hip-hop mix from Whacka and a decidedly in-your-face rework from wobble-meister Thrilla.

Review: Ben's a bit of a triple threat... Erstwhile Pendulum MC, label owner and producer. Seriously skilled producer at that. Although this shouldn't come as much of a surprise; he's been bashing it out N-Type's Wheel & Deal a fair bit of late. Jumping over to his own Crunch stable he sloshes out two salubrious sides that glisten with studio sparkles. Each element in the shoulder-barged halfstep of "Tiger Foot" is deep, resonant and well bodied. With a simple and infectious off-beat bass motif, it's an instant ear-catcher with toxic levels of funk. "Different Way" is a combo-shot with fellow premo players Youngsta and LX One. Clinical riddim time, this comes complete with a ghostly vocal cameo from Darrison. Heavy.

Review: Wishing you the mellowest of meltdowns, Polish imprint New Moon invite two of the bass scene's most forward-thinking producers to remix Hatti's "You". Phaeleh's vision opens with one long, slo-mo rave rush before a detailed percussive pattern and yawning bass tones take us deep into the dance. Review: Appearing on D Bridge & Instra:mental's acclaimed Autonomic mix for fabriclive, signing to Hotflush, and running a series of successful record labels with long term partner ASC is no mean feat. But that's exactly what Vaccine's done. The bittersweet "Ochre" is full of echoing, anguished male vocals and a poignant intensity. The preoccupation with synaesthesia that we've seen with Joker, Gemmy, Guido and Ital Tek continues once again here, and it's a murky, mustard, earthy hue this time. "Cascade Failure", a more mellow, melodic and contemplative cut, with evocative synths and samples, sees things get even more entrenched in the human psyche and feelings of consciousness. It shows Vaccine is not just a versatile and talented producer, but also very much on top of her game.
