Review:
With plenty of heat and hype building from the underground and streets, the talented singer/rapper Zee Musiq gets the full club remix treatment for her latest single 'High'. With support across Radio 1xtra and Rinse she looks set for big things and these cool and classy remixes from the likes of DJ SKT make for a really nice soulful house moment, bringing plenty of summer vibes. Her songwriting and smooth vocals flow effortlessly with the housey flavours, and there's also a very of-the-moment UKG mix from Crezza, as well as a big room cut from Tucka. All bases covered on this solid release, and we are tipping Zee Musiq for big things this year. Lock in and get to know!!

Review:
Zhou's Punch Drunk debut back in 2011 was on of the darkest records to come out of Bristol since the demise of Skull Disco; although they've been active with various Young Echo related side projects since, this full return for the duo has been long awaited. Featuring tasty full sleeve designed by Tape Echo's Alex Digard, the single contains two takes on the same kind of classic West Country dub dread; "Locust Tree" takes terrifying atmospherics and powerful zombie halfstep rhythms that sounds like Shackleton's early material stripped of its flesh and left nothing but clattering bones, while "Locust Dub" takes much of the same backdrop and fills it in with more of a steppas rhythm and pulsing low end. The only criticism we can draw of this is that it makes you wish Zhou could produce more - essential.

Review:
For years mankind has been pouring hot sauce on his chips to give them extra welly - now you can pour it on your DJ set-up for added 'oomph' too. Not physically (please DO NOT pour real sauce on your decks!) but metaphorically as Canadian stadium smashers Zeds Dead head up a very spicy EP on Diplo's imprint. "Demons" is a riveting slab of half-step drama complete with horror strings and all the trimmings. "Mr Sub" follows and lives up to its name with some slinky, sexy sub-bass fun. "Playa" is the hype-hungry track of the bunch thanks to a hair-raising high-end bleep riff, "Rave" meanwhile takes the new school breakbeat style and subverts it with contemporary menace, and "Trouble" finishes the set with Hudson-style halfstep psychedelia. Very hot indeed.

Review:
Morgan Zarate has been causing a stir online with his inventive and melodic take on dubstep. "Broken Heart Collector" is a luxuriantly produced example of electronic pop with heavily compressed layers of emo-synths, urban beats and an infectious melody sung with aplomb by Stevie Neal. "BHC" is a craftily titled instrumental version; although minus the vocals, the tune takes on a more widescreen feel. "Crey Bey" is a digital feast of video game sounds, lasers, hip-hop keyboard riffs and machine gun snares. Recommended.
