Review:
Fresh from Salt Lake City via San Francisco, Illoom delivers some seriously authentic dub vibes here. It's all based on one groove: the EP's namesake "Ganja Bee Riddim". While the title conjures up slightly sad images of stoned stripy insects, it's actually a very sprightly, hypnotising reggae groove with the enduring insistence of the most dedicated worker bee. Throughout the EP, Illoom allows each MC to guide the cut the way they want it. Bunny Lie Lie nods towards the Horace Andy style delivery, Afro Omega add a sense of battle harmony while Cheshire goes for a more throaty, emphatic toast. A very interesting project.

Review:
Hailing from Belgium, this guy has gone from making harsh and accelerated chipmunk-voiced beats (often of the juke/footwork variety) to deeper stuff. Here the slower, throbbing "Make That Booty Clap" is remixed by a number of names: The Martin Brothers go electro-meets-Chicago, while Zombie Disco Squad push the jackin' levels into the red, Plastician goes slow and evil sounding and Mark Starr goes for a stripped down (pun intended) trap style workout.

Review:
Gigantic stadium-level epicness here from New Zealand outfit MT Eden. Lighter-waving sways of halfsteps and warping bass make the perfect bed for Freshly Ground's awe-inspiring vocals. There's a great range of remix flavours on offer, too. Ta-Ku is all clicky, trippy Burialesque two-step. Araabmuzik adds a walloping hallow resonance to the bass. Tommie Sunshine and Live City end with a switch-flipping EDM headtwister. We don't use the term 'gigantic' for nothing...
