Review:
Italian electro-tech producer Alex Kenji, whose tunes have turned up in crates belonging to Justice, Fedde Le Grand, Steve Angello and Tocadisco among others makes another huge impression with the techno spank of "No Matter What They Say". Out on the appropriately named 303 Lovers label, it sports some sinuous acid action as well as Crookers-like drums and detuned vocal shots. "My Oscar" keeps things on a more conventional tech-house tip though, with a killer collection of steadily-rising synths all giving the mainroom beats a real edge.

Review:
A few years ago Dutch DJ Bart Bmore bolted Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" onto the start of his mix of Larry Tee's "I Love You". Now American producer Alex Kidd has gone one stage further and has set the enormous choir and brass of that distinctive blast of classical music up against some seriously chunky electro beats. It's pretty crazy stuff, but he manages to pull it off with style. Remixes come from Lazy Rich, Dynamic Dual and Kidd himself.

Review:
Originally from Chicago but now resident in LA, Alex Kidd gives shouts out to his adopted city on this new two-track release via Crude Trax. The title track walks the line between hypey electro and smoothed-out funky mainroom influences nicely - keeping the bass and drums heavy but not so they get in the way of the gleaming pads and shiny synth stabs that let the track launch. "Project Blue" however throws everything at the wall - adding some nifty LFO wobbles to the bass and dropping an upfront beat that won't fail to set a dancefloor on fire.

ALEX KUNNARI feat BEN ANDREAS
MM 9530
05 Dec 11
Review:
A progressive house veteran of almost 20 years, Alex Kunnari has had a string of hits (such as the Tiesto-endorsed "Lifter") and adds to his catalogue with this new track featuring the vocals of Ben Andreas. "Taste The Sun" makes use of Andreas' rock-influenced tones by constructing a Coldplay-gone-trancey backing for him to hook on to, while Jason Seizures' more abrasive electro mix strips the tune of much of the vocal work to create a straight-up banger aimed squarely at the floor.
