Review:
Any walls remaining between glitch, disco, funk, bass and cosmic disco have been completely razed. And it's all down to Kill Paris. Rocking a cocksure vibe that falls somewhere between Pretty Lights and Koan Sound at their cheekiest. "Slap Me" is the most psychedelic of the set, "Catch You" unwittingly captures the TOTP2 vibe and brings it into tomorrow's world while the title track rolls out on of the most lavish cosmic disco basslines this side of Norway. There's all manner of fantastic remixes on offer, too. OWSLA aren't missing a trick right now.

As well as their forthcoming takeover of the Brixton Academy in October, Toolroom are celebrating their fifth birthday in style with this collection of five mini-mixes from the night's headliners: Mark Knight, Fedde le Grand, Funkagenda, Michael Woods and D.Ramirez. Each around 20 minutes long, they're packed with huge house-shaped moments from the last five years - with each track available as individual full-length downloads.

A headnod to his devoted fans, Phil puts a twist on 2011's "I Can't Stop" with this absolute monster for Tiga's Turbo: "I Can't Go On". Rolling with wavy analogue punches and a whispered vocals, it peaks and troughs with electro energy but carries the same insistency that all his records do; no holds barred techno. "Ghetto Face Place Space" upkeeps the whispering motif of the title track, but does so with a deeper twist. The heartbeat bassline lollops with a prog-like charm before the acidic synth and percussion do the real damage. Kieran at his finest.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... Unless you're a Vegas-based producer with serious skills, like King - then it's only appropriate to spread the word as far and wide as possible. Taking grime sensibilities, mixing them with a dash of US ghetto-bass spirit and delivering them through a Brainfeeder loudhailer, King's carved a very distinctive niche over the years, summarising it neatly on this razor-sharp debut LP. From brutally barbed bashment ("Riots") to mournful, naval-gazing classic electro homages ("Getn Up") via uncompromising trappist naughtiness ("Off The Wall") Koncepts is a very well considered and arranged album that works on floors and feelings alike.

Go Up To Get Down is the new remix album from UK based house and hip-hop shifter, Kidda. With an original album due for release later this year, Skint Records have decided to release a collection of remixes from Kidda's 2008 debut album.
Kidda, AKA Ste McGregor, has an undeniable talent when it comes to producing hip-hop-funk twisted with house music. By merging breaks, hip-hop beats, soul and house, Kidda is able to ignite any party with his fun and energetic take on music. Picked up by Skint Records after his impressive first two EPs, "Shoe Cash EP" and "Word Booty EP" Kidda released his critically acclaimed debut album last year. Going up had a refreshing sound that combined afro-funky percussive rhythms, soulful vocals, blessed out synths in a cut-up heavy, playful debut full length. The album was a hit straight away and Kidda became an in-demand DJ around the world. An upshot of that was that a number of Kidda remixes began to surface. One such offering was Herve?s remix of "Under The Sun." The combination of Herve?s production and Kidda's hooks got the remix plenty of attention. Featured on a Bacardi advert, "Herve's Under The Sun" remix turned into one of the biggest dance tracks of 2008. Now, Kidda has enlisted the help of several top notch producers to give his entire debut the remix treatment. In addition to the massive Herve remix, Go Up To Get Down includes Jack Beats, Heavy Feet, Detboi, Jaymo & Andy George amongst many more. A fun and funky remix album, happy melodies and hooks litter this party powering mix.

Developing quite the reputation in breakbeat circles, Kwerk consistently has delivered full-bodied bass workouts since the very beginning. Naturally this is no exception; opening with a pacey, full drum intro, we're soon pushed deep into a series of halfstep twists. Coated in a well applied spoken word sample, it keeps you on your toes from start to finish. Remix-wise Sneaker & The Dryer add a little old school cheekiness while Olmec extends the space and sonics for something a little more progressive. Get to werk!

Review:
Skint's Kidda plunders his recent Hotel Radio album for this luscious and orchestral, Flaming Lips-esque single featuring the vocals of long time collaborator Lee Baker. But the real joy is Dublin DJ Detboi's standout remix - a darkside and hugely moody dubstep remake in the same vein as Burial or Pangaea, with a nicely contrasting use of Baker's vocals. Detboi's instrumental is included for full appreciation of his crystalline textures and crisp, glitchy beats, while other mixes from the Black Dots and Deconstruction break out on a funkier and vastly more upbeat tip.

Review:
Krafty Kuts returns with the hot-house electro of "Let's Ride", joined by Atlanta rapper Shorty-O who adds a slinky, drrty feel to the French filtered choruses and wobbly verses. British producer Ado weighs in with a monster of a mix that simply skyrockets upward to a huge crescendo, while breaks titan PYRAMID drops some huge glitchy bass licks on his half-steppin' version, along with a more upfront "Future Jungle" mix that maintains a house tempo but with a rollicking, Amen-style break bolstering it nicely.
