Review:
Following on from their first instalment, the guys at Parisian soul/funk/jazz label Heavenly Sweetness are back with a follow up. Having spent months scouring the net for the best new sounds, they proudly present the cream of their findings - 15 in total. Highlights include the future bass/jazzy trapisms of "Down Brandy" which takes the eponymous RnB singer and warps her into another dimension, the drunk cat on a keyboard-isms of "Muscles", the cool retro hip-hop of "Boomboxin" and the 80s freestyle pop of "The Followers".

Review:
It's to Submerge and UR's credit that they can still deliver music that is exciting and challenging. Leader begins with "EF's Back", a brilliantly moody slice of hip-hop noir, with nasal, blunted vocals set to chilling strings. By contrast, "Funny" is a high-speed jazzy techno track, the sensuous notes striving to keep up with the runaway tempo. But Submerge has remained true to its roots here, and Mr DE rolls out the wiry electro funk on "Technobob" and "Technobass", the latter bringing an air of mystique with it. He also delivers breathless deep techno on the dreamy, soulful vocal-led "All for Granted".

Review:
Future Fusion is the killer debut set from Streetwalker, the collaborative project of White Car's Elon Katz and Beau Wanzer of Mutant Beat Dance/LIES fame. The DIY ethos of primitive Chicago house seeps into the pair's work as Streetwalker, with the material that forms Future Fusion recorded live in one take. This was subsequently recorded without any overdubs or MIDI to one inch tape, with the resultant six tracks resonating with a loose, primal energy. Sitting uneasily between house, industrial, synth-pop and EBM, Future Fusion is one of those records that you simply cannot second guess. This being a Cititrax release, the presentation is second to none too, with some superb illustration work from the well respected graphic artists Spencer Longo, but in truth the music should be the real focus of attention here.
