Hot damn daddy-o! Here we have a deliciously decadent collection of rockabilly and surf music from the 1950s. It's all zoot suits, wrap around shades and Bettie Page types dancing on pink and turquoise cocktail tables. Tiki holidays in Hawaii with the sweet smell of 'jazz cigarettes' driving all the young folk into a debauched, kitsch-trash frenzy. Simply 'Crazy man, crazy'!

Following the success of the first Shake-A-Leg club-night compilation a couple of years ago, Perfect Toy now unveil the equally enjoyable follow-up. Run by vinyl junkies Tobias Kirmayer and Jerker Kluge, their Munich club night is all about fusing rare Afrobeat, funk, jazz and soulful hip-hop (as professed on their matching t-shirts!). Highlights include killer cuts by a disparate range of artists including Mighty Mocambos and Afrika Bambaataa, Fanga and even Jacknife Lee!

Review:
How do Tramp do it? How do they continuously unearth all these unsung soul heroes? We may never know, but at least the artists featured are lovingly reintroduced to the record buying public, often after years of obscurity. Lonnie Lester is a singer from Indiana who began singing gospel, before moving on to doo-wop and eventually RnB. It's the raw rhythm and blues singles that he released during the 1960s that are collected here including "You Can't Go", "So This Is Love" and the Peter Gunn-esque "Meanest Man In Town".

Review:
Big brassy vintage soul samples, sci-fi movie clips and big bloc party beats, we're deep into the 90s right? Wrong! This is vintage hip-hop 2013 style. This album is the side project of Matthew Brewer (aka Frameworks), who has collaborated with Canadian MC Blu Rum 13 (aka One Self) for a refreshingly unmaterialistic long player that heralds a return to rap's daisy age. Forget the bling and just concentrate on the good times!
